CIC/ IRCC requirements for permanent residency seekers:

For proof, you must get official letters from any banks or financial institutions where you’re keeping money.

Letter(s) must

  • be printed on the financial institution’s letterhead
  • include their contact information (address, telephone number and email address)
  • include your name
  • list outstanding debts such as credit card debts and loans
  • include, for each current bank and investment account, the
    • account numbers
    • date each account was opened
    • current balance of each account
    • average balance for the past 6 months
I have Bank of America. Most part is understood except the average balance for the past 6 months. The bank asked me what average are they asking for? Average of daily running balance for each of the 6 months ? How should they calculate it and provide the summary in the letter?

Also I have 2 other credit card accounts. The requirement specifies outstanding debts such as credit card debts and loans. So does this mean I have to request my credit card company to issue a summary of my account, showing my balance/ debt I owe? Is there anything else that should I ask them to include in this letter?

Thank you!
