I sent email to this email CPC-CTD-Ottawa@cic.gc.ca, and got reply "Please, be advised that your file is currently under review and requires additional verifications. As a result, the assessment period will be outside of our posted processing times. "
Any friend know what is the content of additional verification???? 24 months waiting now.

Sep 2016 application.

I called last month and they also said that I need additional verification. The security check is processed by third party thus he didn't have a time frame how much it would take. I am not required to provide additional documents though.

Hi Guys i am sept 7th 2016 applicant . I got my passport request on feb 13th 2018. But i got married before month so i declared that and they asked me sent spouse document kit ,which i did by feb 18th 2018.she got medical request by april 24th 2018 and she did the next day .by may 7th medicals turned to passed .But from that time there is no reply back from them .As i tried to email couple of times i got a generic email saying need extra verifications so it was out of time .Do any one added spouse after decision made if so how much it has been taken to complete the application .Thank you

Wow!!! Why on earth would an applicant mess up with the entire permanent residence process getting married just when he is weeks from getting his permanent residence? Just curious bro, anything you are missing? Cuz really it makes no sense. My advice, be patient, very patient because now cic has to go through the same background process you did, and we can all agree that process doesn't get any faste :/ good luck

I think he did the right thing. There is no specific timeline for getting a PPR and getting married is a part of life. So he has to inform them
You cannot ask your (to be spouse) to wait for you till you get the PPR and on the other side no one knows when CiC would send a PPR (or an ADR). But agreed to the part that it will be another long process, (how long) it can be six months or a year.

medical passed for both april 2018.
Since then stuck on background check.
everytime i tried to call they give me same answer as you added spouse there is no time frame you just need to wait. Already more than 24 months and seems like this wait is never ending.

There is no update since then.

I didn't change address or change job. Open work permit. I only lived in my citizen country and Canada before. Traveled to Japan, States only.
I applied right after I graduate from school. Education history and employment history are extremely simple. No spouse, nothing. My background is extremely simple.
Very frustrating and confusing that it's taking this long..
