I'm from BC and it took 2 days to reach Ottawa so basically 4 days in transit, 4 days of weekend and CIC took 4 days to complete the whole process.

I hope this helps!!

I am new to this thread! :) I have a question, for PNP program should we stay in that province during the processing time? I am nominated by ON but I had to move temporarily to AB because of my husbands study. I am going to extend my WP, does it cause any problem? I am very worried.

Could you please mention your nationality also. Apparently, security check for Iranians has been a bottleneck :(

My status:

Nationality: Iran
Application sent: Sep 15, 2016
AOR: Dec 19, 2016
MR: Dec 18, 2017
BG: NA
From receiving the application till now : exactly 17 months
Yeah, it's been pretty long for many Iranian applicants :( but also for many people from the Philippines and from north African countries.

To answer your question about the PNP, there are two things to consider. First, the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms allows you to move freely within Canada. On the other hand, if you come through PNP you express that you wish to settle in ON, and if you move they could accuse you of misrepresentation (i.e. saying something that wasn't true) and you could get into trouble. If you have enough proof that (1) you are returning to ON, and (2) that you will settle there permanently, you should be fine. How long will you be gone?
