Got my passport back today. Return tracker was activated yesterday at 16:45 ottawa time, received today around 11am.
I sent it to CIC on dec 22nd and they received on the 23rd of december.
Going to land this weekend, good luck to all, thanks for all the hellp.

Hi, are you going to a US border for landing? I am Just wondering do we need a valid US visa? Thanks

You do not need valid US visa to flagpole.
Once you arrive at the border you have to tell them that you do not want to enter USA, but want to return to Canada in order to activate Permanent Residence.
They are very familiar with this procedure as a lot of people doing it every day.
They will ask you to come inside, look at your documents, give you form and send you back to Canada.
This will not affect your ability to obtain US visa in future.

I've flagpoles multiple times without US visa, and in later date obtained one without any problems.
