December 15 applicant... no updates yet! patiently waiting...

Dec 17 -- waiting for RPRF email

hey December:

I am surprised...
some of Jan 14, and jan 15 2015 guys have got IP
it means by next week they ll get DM or straight passport requests

What has become of our applications?

it's because they are the express entry application. Do not look at their timeline to compare to yours if you submitted before Jan 2015

I think it's also important to remember that there are likely tens of thousands of applications like ours at CIC right now, and we're just a small group of 20-30 people who are reporting their timelines and tracking the progress. While it might be a good indication of an estimate for other applications, the sample size here is way too small to draw concrete conclusions.

I see a lot of comments like "you will be getting IP next week" or "this means you will be due for DM by September" etc etc. I think this is misleading, and I think people should be more careful with their words. The facts are that we don't know when our applications will be processed, and it doesn't seem like CIC are simply processing in date order (who knows how they do it, but there's proof that sometimes it's out of order).

I'm not pointing blame at anyone here, but just wanted to give a reminder that we should use the information on this forum as a guide for our own estimates, but also remember that we could be the exceptions to the rule and need to avoid drawing sweeping conclusions from just one or two outlier cases.

Guys how soon you got police clearance certificate request after medical was done? Like in 1-2 months?

If you hv already medical ..or not yet .. in both cases you need to wait for V
Cic instructions. ..and don't worry you will hv more than a month and you can't wait...Cic is giving 3 months to submit police clearance..and it is not like what you think that they 'll just wait fr police clearance ...your application 'll go thru the same background check whether you submit it as soon as they ask you or within the 3months period
Patience!!!

Hello guys,

I called CIC today to confirm about the RPRF payment. I sent them my receipt last month. The representative confirmed that the payment has been attached to my file. I happened to ask him if this is going to help my file to move quickly. He clearly mention CIC is still following the appropriate timeline dedicated to the PNP class. He mentioned if I have got my medicals a bit early dose not make me qualified to be in front row to pick my file for reviewing/processing and make the officer send us passport request or document request. I asked him most of the August applicants are getting their passport requests so the answer was "As I am a December applicant I should not expect anything sooner for passport request until November. The officers are strictly following the timeline. 16 months is the current processing time and if there are any changes CIC will update o their website." This has helped my curiosity come down a bit and wait till November for passport request if everything goes well. If sticking to timeline may make us expect any decision soon and relieves our anxiety. Any positive surprises will surely make us happy.

All the best everyone!!!!

Thanks for posting Ansh619, that's some great first hand information! Interesting to see that even though the officer said the standard response of "16 months", he also said that you shouldn't expect anything before November (which is only 11 months). I know he chose his words carefully and left the possibility open that it will be a lot later than November, but this I think is still very positive that they are maybe moving faster than the stated timeframe right now. :)

Can I ask what phone number you called to confirm this info?

So another 4 months at least before we hear from them.............

They said November for passport request. I think we might still get things like Doc requests, IP and DM earlier, but then have that status sit there until November.

Realistically, that's kind of the time line I was expecting. I've just been hopeful for it to be quicker! Truth be told, if this is all done by the end of 2015 I'd consider it a success.

Exactly what I'm aiming for

I agree Quink,

2015 Dec was the realistic target.
