Great news!

Today I've officially become a PR of Canada.
Just crossed the US border, went to visit the easternmost place in the USA and then crossed the border back to Canada. 15 mins to wait for the paperwork and I was ready to leave as PR.

My officer was very friendly and I have a picture taken with him.
Even the border crossing in New Brusnwick looked nice and wasn't busy at all.

Good luck to all that are about to become PR! It really feels great. 8)

No tracker yet. Passport reached Ottawa Feb 2nd. My work permit is expiring Feb 22nd. Do you guys know what happens when I try to do landing with an expired work permit. Is that an issue? Thanks and Good luck

Hi maxy81,

As Mbgirlfriend suggested u now wait till the 19th of Feb. then u should apply online if u do not get the PP. In this case u could say that u applied before the expiry date of ur WP & even though u are late on that u still good to go and better than not applying at all. Also, please be optimistic and pray that ur PP will reach you as soon as u like.
Based on the info of other guys in this forum, it usually takes 7-10 days to get PP back. That means ur PP will reach u between the 15 & 19 of Feb.. Be optimistic.

When do we see ecas changed to complete? After how many days?


there is always waiting for something or the other , never ending process ..


even after landing , they havent updated their system to PR , so cant even update the SIN until they update the system ,,,, if sin is not updated , you cnt even update the cra and other stuff ,

when i go to service canada , they say that system doesnt show up your file.....

always waiting and waiting for something .... and now passport also looks dirty bcoz of crossing off all the previous visa stamps in passport with black marker.... Lips sealed

You have to stop working on 21 and even tell your employer coz they might call him to check if you are working or not... All the best

They do not have to stop working if they apply for another WP before February 21st. Once they apply for a new WP they will be on implied status while they wait to hear for a decision on their Work Permit application. Right now work permits are taking 4 months to either be approved or denied, that would give them plenty of time to get PR.

When you are on implied status YES you can work. i am the one who did.my HR directly spoke to CIC and they said person
who is under implied status can carry on work on same status which he or she hold that time.
dont worry keep working.

I am in implied status now. Couldn't wait for CIC incompetent response time on anything. Hopefully trackers gets activated this week as well. This whole process has messed up my travel plans. Feels like process never ends. After landing another wait for the stupid plastic card. Entire western world has moved to online systems and we are still dealing with physical documents.
