They don't take this into account at all. The best would be to apply for bridging work permit if you can, if not - apply for visitor visa and wait. My PGWP expired November 2015, I got bridging for 1 year.
The only sharp deadline for them is when your medical expires (normally 1 year), cause they have to give you passport request before that expiry date - because landed immigrant visa is valid only till medical expiry date, without which you obviously cannot get PR.
Agree only deadline is one yr after ME, if they miss that they have to ask another ME and if that happens it will be an international joke.

There are many cases went for reassessment of medicals which is part of process if the application is not adjudicated within one year of first medicals for their/applicant's delay.

Thats f***ing insane and inhuman, if that happens i would encourage ppl report this to the local news. One person cant be exposed to X- ray more than twice in a year otherwise it would do harm to your health.

Again this is insane and inhuman!!!

Upfront medical does not count

If this is true, all x-ray operators and doctor, and aviators and astronauts would have been all dead by now. Please stop.

Watch this about radiation

Don't do the X ray and let CIC rejects you then.

mine expires jan 24

so just 5 more days
skg1989,

Just saw your post about your WP expiring on Jan 24. Even if you get your PPR (say) today, you won't get the passport back atleast 20 days from now. When you go to the border for your landing, your status in Canada has to be valid. Either you should have a valid study/visit/work permit or show proof that an application has been filed and is in process. If your WP is expiring, apply for extension immediately. You could get into a very uncomfortable situation.

Thank you so much! It means a lot to me :)
I just wanted to make sure, so you mean I don't need to go to border when I get my passport back? And apply for PRTD when I'm out of canada during my vacation? I guess there is no problem with leaving canada, right? I'll be staying in my country for 3 weeks and I'm just scared.. Just in case I can't get the PRTD right away before I leave frommy country.
I'll call cic later. Thanks a lot! :)
Hi friend,

After you get the PPR, send your passport to CIC for stamping. Now you have 2 options regarding your home country visit:
- DO NOT go for landing at border. Just go to your home country and come back before the last data mentioned in landing instructions. That way you'll do your landing at the airport itself. The system will automatically apply for your PR card. It will take ~3 months to arrive. I hope you don't have any out of the country trip planned during these 3 months.
- Go for landing at US border and come back to Canada. Again, the system applies for your PR card automatically. Now, you can go to your home country. Apply for PRTD while being there. Once you receive that, you can travel back to Canada.

Personally, I would delay my trip to home country if possible. If you can't postpone it, go for option 1. Hope this helps.

PS: The condition of having PR card applies strictly to commercial carrier travel. If you can land in US and drive from there, you don't need PR card.

People's life is not all about immigrating to Canada, if your wife was pregnant and asked for x- ray 2 times in one year due to the delay in CIC will you get pissed off? Or you will jus let your wife undergo the x ray anyway? If that happens it's inhuman!

Oh wait maybe it's not the case for you as you believe x ray is not harmful to ppl's health. Sorry my bad.

In this case cic waits till mother gives birth. This is the case for some which is not new to cic. No issues but of course there is delay.

The effect of X-ray on human is well documented. I am saying the dosage of lung X-ray tests carried out in medical exams are nowhere near enough to cause any health concerns.

Of course in case of pregnancy is very different. In that case, as @harirajmohan mentioned you will have to let CIC know and have it delayed.

Meanwhile, the effect of stressful waiting for PR during long 12+ months is not documented at all, while it is way more harmful than any xrays.
It is unreasonable and literally life-destroying thing for so many families. Incomparable damage to xrays:)

Hi All,

Please don't start x-ray or any irrelevant wars on this thread. Most of the people that are still waiting for PPR's come here everyday to check statuses and share timelines. Let's keep things clean and relevant to the issue in hand (PPR).

Thanks

Same as with users constantly writing on the threads: "Any newss ???????????????????".

Ehm, if somebody has a new, they will post it. It's not like they will only post it if you ask.

Then somebody sees new posts on their thread, goes all excited, and is 5 posts of users asking for news.

Just saying..
