I’m trying to open my Express Entry profile, but I’m worried about the work experience I listed on my approved study permit application.

On my study permit application, I listed my experience as:

  • Company A: 2017–2023 – HR Assistant
  • Company B: 2023–2024 – HR Officer
However, my actual work history for Company A is:

  • 2017–2019: Front Desk Officer
  • 2019–2023: HR Assistant
For Company B, I did work there and I have documents. My actual timeline is:
  • Jan 2023 – July 2023: Remote (contract)
  • Aug 2023 – Aug 2024: Remote, full-time
Because of the overlap, I was thinking of claiming points only for Company A (2019–2023 HR Assistant), and placing my earlier role (2017–2019 Front Desk Officer) and all Company B experience under Personal History instead of Work History, so I don’t need to upload too many documents.

My concerns are:

  1. Would it be a problem if my EE profile breaks down the experience differently from my study permit application, even though the information is still correct and just more detailed?
  2. Is it acceptable to claim points for only Company A (2019–2023) and put Company B under Personal History?
