PLEASE HELP...MY PASSPORT HAS STUCK AT CPP OTTAWA OFFICE

I am having terrible time as I made an TRV application to CPP-Ottawa on January 29, 2013, my application reached there on 1st February 2013. the next day I noticed that I missed few forms in my application including document checklist and employment letter, I prepared missing documents and sent by UPS courier to CPP-Ottawa explaining them my situation and mistake. My second package reached there on February 5, 2013. Initially I thought my application will surely be refused and they will send my passport back right away may be in 10 days or so as some of my colleges got their refused application inside 10 days, but now I have flight tickets booked for India on 27th February noon and there are no updates from CPP Ottawa on my application even after 2 weeks I sent my application. On the top of that they increased processing time to 22 days.

I sent them few emails but I am not getting any response. I would be ready even if I get my passport without visa, atleast I can fly and have visa stamped from India but atleast I need my passport back. I don't know what to do, I called CIC call centre but they as always don't have proper answers, they don't have access as well, CPP-Ottawa does not have contact number as well. I don't know what should i do atleast I can get my passport back.

Please if any one has passed through same situation, share your experience and please advise.

I went through a similar situation lately. Although the website says I can travel with an expired visa to the US, the airline staff gave me a hardtime at Denver Airport.I need to travel next week and as such, did not want to take another chance so applied for the TRV on 21st Jan via Canada Post priority mail - it reached ottawa the next day.
Since the processing days were being increased, I send an email to the Ottawa office to consider processing my application quicker and received a response in 2 days that they have finalised the case - since I kept a self addressed priority envelope, I got the passport back the next day.
Looking at your post, I see that you went via UPS - unfortunately, you cannot do anything now but I hope you kept a self-addressed canada post priority envelope too as they will not return your passport via any private couriers which may take another few days through regular mail.

I hope your first email to them was clear enough as they may not entertain multiple queries. I wish you the best and hope you get it back in time for your trip.

Thanks buddy ! I am all messed up as too many happenings suddenly, My passport has stuck to Ottawa office, on the top of that they increased TRV processing time to 22 days now. Secondly, I sent two different mails the first had my passport and IMM5257 and photos + payment while the second one has rest missing docs such as document checklist. However, I had included a personal letter in 2nd post explaining them my case and handing rest to them for their decision. However, major issue is they are not giving any updates on my passport whether they would accept my application or deny. I am all set to fly on 27th but now I can't do much I am not much worried about visa at a moment but passport.

In between I have my medical reqest as well from CIC and of course medical office would like to see my passport for sure. I am confused at a moment on how to contact CPP Ottawa and let them know my situation. Anyways thanks for your inputs, I appreciate.

If anyone went through same situation, Please advise. Thank you !

Guys...Can someone please advise ? I must make flight on 27th February noon as I have an emergency back home (India). Can I go to CPP-Ottawa personally, explain them situation and ask them for passport a day or two before my flight schedule ?? Will they return in that way ?

I am in big trouble as initially I was worried about VISA but not its all about Passport. I don't know what to do. Please someone advise.

I am also so pissed off in the same hell like situation i submitted my online application its been a month now and got reply from them that it has been approved so i should send them my passport for stamping.. they got my passport on the 12th of feb and i booked my seats ..xactally ur situation bro i can feel ur pain tomorrow on 27th i booked my tickets and i changed my tickets three times every time they charged me $200 coz the tickets i booked was through a promotion ,, i fax them mailed them begged that for heaven sake send me my paspport but no reply.. finally i cancelled my tickets and booked it again on 20 march hopefully by than i will get some news from Ottawa the great CPP...

Have you heard anything back from CIC? We are on the same boat. I applied TRV online on Jan 30 and was asked to send my passport to CPP-Ottawa. They received my passport on Feb 22. I haven’t anything back since then.
I sent them an email yesterday but didn’t get a respond.

Hi Hazel, I also had to cancel my trip yesterday...I lost $400 only because of the great CPP, I sent them emails few times requesting them that I have an emergency visit back home, even I sent them fax as well...I dont know wats wrong with them, why do they show up processing time 21 calender days ..a week before I thought I would go to Ottawa myself and have my passport from there but my travel agent suggested me to wait for a week and so did I but nothing has changed since then, atleast they can send updates that would provide a bit relief....all I can say is hope for the best and trust your God !

george, the last email I received from them on February 19 saying they received my application on February 1 and currently in queue to be reviewed by officer and they can't tell me remaining time required to process my application, then I sent them email last friday and yesterday as I had my flight today, but they dont care. Good luck guys !

Hello,

I sent my passport on 3rd of May through expressport with a return expresspost envelope encloded. I dont see any update from CPP as of today - no email in MyCIC that visa is stamped, the return envelope tracking number is still not active in canadapost website and CPP Ottawa is not responding to my email.

I'm worried now -please advise what should be my next action?

Are you telling that it will take 3-4 weeks to stamp visa on passport? Mine was online application. Though the processing time for online application is ~28 days, CIC requested my passport 43 days after submitting application.

I see that some members in the forum got their passport back within 2 business days, but mine is stuck in Ottawa

Finally got my passport with visa stamp CPP Ottawa took 2 weeks to process visa after they received my passport.

It is so strange, I sent my application on April 29, 2013. CIC website mentions that they have processed applications till May 2, 2013. It was updated on May 22, 2013.
