Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Hello everyone,

First off, i have opened some topics a few months ago with my questions.
I am in Canada now and i have been here since 11th of August.

I was born in Holland and my passport is DUTCH, so i got here just with my passport.
I guess im allowed to stay here for 6 months.
I tried to extend my stay online but i have problems with the pdf download so question number one is: Is there an office in Laval where i can go to ask info or get help on extend my stay....

Second question; Me and my fiance are getting married and we planned on him becoming a sponsor and sponsoring em as his spouse which will last for 3 years (in which i planned to do all the stuff to become a citizen)
BUT now i just read on the immigration quebec website that you need to be married atleast one year to do this...(and then i felt like i could sink trough the ground)

I really need help from somebody who can advise me on what to do to be able to stay here.

As for work i do not have a job here and from what i know its pretty much impossible to find a job without being a permanent resident or citizen.

I live with my fiance and on his income.

What do i do next, do i extend my stay at an office and then apply for citizenship or permanent residency..OR is it possible to get the spousal sponsorship without having been married for 1 year.

I am too stressed about this.

Thanks to whoever will help in advance.

You don't have to be married for a year to be sponsored by your spouse. You can be sponsored as soon as you're married.

You were probably looking at the Quebec immigration. Not sure why they would have the year requirement. Look under the federal requirements in the CIC website. No waiting period.

You got here Aug 11th and you were admitted for 6 months, why are you trying to to extend now I dont get it?

No you cannot extend at a local office. You have to mail in your application and it takes time.

You can get a work permit while your application for spousal sponsorship is under process.

when would be the best to extend then?

also, when i was filling in the form i see they ask the reason for extension and some people have been denied over this. Should i say love/relationship or marriage??
