Hoping to get some advice on my dad’s situation.
He came to Canada after retiring to be with my mom (a Canadian citizen), and we applied for his PR back in 2022. He’s been living here with her since early 2023, and we had one visitor extension approved. We applied for another before the last one expired (Sept 2024), but just got a rejection at the end of May.
The letter didn’t give a clear reason — just listed general concerns like purpose of stay, ties to home country, and whether he’ll leave Canada. It says he now needs to leave immediately, since the deadline to leave before expiry has passed.
We’re really stressed and unsure what to do next. Is there any way he can stay while waiting for PR? (We heard one potential way is to start restoration application + super visa application with me being the sponsor as a citizen, is this a legit course of action?)
