Hi I just want to know the phone numbers of call center to check the PR card status if I am calling from India. Appreciate if any one can revert.

+1 613 944 4000 (for an agent: options 1,2,1,2,1 ... then 0 to skip the message)

The CIC call centre is open 8am - 4pm local time.
Check the time difference from your country while calling.

I am trying to call from US and it is not working after 2 options? any other way to know the status of PR card from out side Canada?

I will land at Toronto and come back in one month without PR card, my family will be in Toronto. To go back before getting PR card , I will need travel document from Canadian visa office. Some people say we should not ask for travel document, what may be the negative side of travel document ? is it issued once only in 5 years ?
