Hello everyone,
I'm wondering if anyone has some experience with this scenario:
I'm finishing up an 8-month graduate diploma soon and intend to apply for my PGWP immediately upon receiving my graduation documents. I also have my temporarily imported car with me, which is associated with my study permit, so it's currently allowed here until the end of August.
The question: I'm wondering if obtaining the PGWP automatically extends the temporary import time to match it's duration. I'm assuming yes, because it would make no sense to need to fully import a car as a 8-month temporary worker only to then return to the states, but I can't figure out if I need to do anything to make the car's allowed time match the PGWP, and I could just be completely wrong in this assumption.
I also do plan to apply for PR under spousal sponsorship relatively soon, but my understanding is that this is an entirely separate issue and should not impact the PGWP/temporary import situation until I become a PR, at which point I would need to fully import the car. I would like to hold off on full importation until I have to do it and I know that I won't need to return to the states for some reason.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
