Hi:

I was issued a PGWP in june 2014 after completing a 4 year undergraduate program at a university. My WP expires in Jan 2017 as my passport expires then. I will still have 5 more months worth of eligible work permit time left.

I am planning to renew my passport in June 2016. Am I eligible to extend my WP till June 2017 once I renew my passport? If I apply for my WP extension and it doesn't get to me before my current WP expires, will I have implied status?

thanks.

You should be fine to get a new work permit. note that PGWP is 3 years Max. I was in the same boat and extended mine. in my case i had an entire year taken off because my my passport expiry. Just apply for a brand new pgwp and you should be good to go.

On a side note , u should have applied for PR by now if you have worked a year in skilled work.

Have entered Express Entry and waiting for ITA. Also applied for AINP and waiting for nomination.
Curiosity leads me to ask, you applied through CEC back then?

Thanks,

Im just about to get into express entry . You should be fine. If you have received your AOR you can get a new work permit with that alone.
