Hello,

I am compiling the PR application and got stuck filling my personal history details in the background declaration form. I am working here in Canada for an MNC for the past 2 years, I joined this MNC in India 6 years back in 2004. Due to my employer's policies, they provided the reference letter (which I am going to submit along with PR application) stating that I am employed with their Canadian office since 2004 as they consider my joining date as global hire date, even though I started my work in Canada in 2008. Now, I am confused how to declare my activities since age of 18, should I put my work experience in India or just put as in Canada since 2004.
Appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks in advance

hi Candyman,

you have to declare all your activities/work experiences since your 18 years old whether you're studying or working with different institutions regardless you are working/studying abroad or on your home country. Be carefull with the gap dates because this portion on this form needs to be comprehensive. if there's a certain time that you are not working ( ex : right after your study and still searching for work), put "unemployed" with the duration time period.

Hope this info may help.

Thanks,

I also took break for an year during my graduation, I wasn't doing any job but preparing myself to pursue something else (you can say sitting at home doing nothing :D), and then continued my graduation after that. In all, my 3 year graduation program took 4 years. Wondering how do I mention that 1 year ..

Please advise ...

You describe what you were doing and complete the form as instructed.
Any gaps in your history will be a problem.

thanks for the response .. so, I took vocational training but haven't finished it either to get a diploma or certificate, so that 1 year is almost a worthless effort. how do I put that while filling my application as I wouldn't have anything to prove my training, is it fine if I just say, 'UnEmployed' and 'took break from graduation', after an year, I then continued with my graduation.

any suggestion much appreciated ..
