Hello All,

Anyone faced this situation recently?
Permanent residents just have their second baby born outside of Canada. Now in order to meet residency requirements, they want to come back to Canada. But new born baby does not have any documents What should they do and how long it takes usually? Have read old posts, but they are from 2013.

The rules are no different now than they were in 2013.

In order to sponsor the baby for PR, one of the parents must be physically in Canada. They cannot submit the application from outside of Canada. Additionally, the person sponsoring MUST meet the PR residency obligation at the time they submit the sponsorship application.

To bring the baby to Canada ahead of PR, they will need to apply for a TRV (assuming they are from a non visa exempt country). If the TRV is refused, they can try applying for a TRP. If the TRP is also refused, then one of the parents will have to travel to Canada ahead of the rest of the family to submit the PR application for the second baby and they remain in Canada while the application is processed.

Thanks.

So, other than sponsorship, is that real to get a visitor visa for baby, and then apply to a sponsorship from Canada?
How long does it take aprox. Sponsorship of the baby?

The PR sponsorship should take less than six months.

Whether the TRV is approved is up to CIC. Some are approved and some are refused.

Thanks.

Ok, in order to avoid the sutiation of the first family, my anither friends(also residents) are expecting baby.T hey are out of Canada as well. They dont have canadian health card, since they never lived there for a long time, just received rp and left. What shall they do? Move to Canada and Get the private insurance while waiting for medical cards? Or what? And how much doest it usually cost ? pregnancy with private insurance?
