Hi All,

I am scheduled to attend the final step in the permanent resident application via family sponsorship. Can anyone give me some tips as what type of documents i am supposed to bring with me? i.e. passport birth certificate etc?

This is the final step for the permanent resident application so not sure what to expect. The fee is $490 can anyone confirm if this fee includes the cost of the permanent resident card?

If anyone has any other information that might be useful that would be great.

thanks everyone :)

Is this a one on one interview or how does the landing process work exactly? im just curious. thanks!

I landed in Vancouver on 20th May 2010. There were about 15 people landing, all with their spouse and dependents.

We were taken into a large room and then given a PR talk. Basic stuff about SIN and responsibilities etc.

Then we were called up according to our given number. We approached the IO at her desk as a family. My partner confirmed he was the sponsor. My son and I were asked to produce our passports, current status paperwork (work visa, student visa, visitor visa etc) and the conformation the fee had been made. We werea asked a couple of simple questions, had things changed etc, my son was asked if he had any dependents (he is 17 and the IO did joke that she loved asking children this in front of their Moms) It was all very pleasant and enjoyable.

We signed the COPR paper, had the Welcome to Canada and walked out clutching a copy of that precious paper. The whole process took an hour.

GOOD LUCK and congrats
