My passport was delivered on October 3rd 2017 at Ottawa Visa office and it stayed in their mail box or PO box for 8 days. I was very upset to find out that they picked it up on 11 october. Which is most likely happening with all of us. Also i was told that deadline for my passport to be sent back is 25 October.

I see, the same must be happening with my docs right now, too. Making themselves comfortable in their po box ^^

Did u call CIC to find out about it or just emailed them?

They normally mail it out the same day of stamping. (talking from the experience of TRV stamping). So you might get it back by tomorrow.

But how do you get the "CPC Passport Received by Agent Date"? Just curious. I sent my passport today.

But how do you get the "CPC Passport Received by Agent Date"? Just curious. I sent my passport today.

People call or email CIC to confirm the receipt of passport. So the day they receive a email reply back from them is usually not the day CIC received PP (might be a day or two before). To know the exact date, you may call CIC. Currently the lines are busy.

Normally how long do they take to respond emails?

Should I send the email as soon as my passport is delivered or should I wait few more days?

you can wait for about two days before sending them an email because delivery just doesn't means it has ben received by the agent. For some, it takes about a week from the delivery date to actually get it in agent's hand.
they respond in about two days. If you're lucky, you will get a reply the very next day.
