Passports to CPC Ottawa- Nov 2017

My husband and I have sent our passports on November 20th. We are stuck on either side of the border, US and Canada. We did not get any response when we emailed them. Is there a phone number to get in touch with them? I am not sure if we would get it before Christmas.

I have the exact same issue as you and our passports were delivered on Nov 20th. They usually take a week or so to reply. I don't think we can get it before Christmas since it takes another week for the return tracker to be activated after the status change. Some lucky ones got their passports mailed out the same day of status changing to approved. Let's just wait and hope for the best.

This is such a bad planning I don't understand why they would ask for passport and stock it up if they don't have resource to process it faster, especially around the holidays.

Well. We never know how CIC works. I have applied for extending my visitor status and it clearly says the processing time is 100 days. It was approved after exactly one week. Let's hope they will work on it and if you have some extenuating circumstances, you could email them with the proof and they will expedite the process. "Please be advised that we will not consider requests that are not of an extenuating circumstance, such as vacation or pre-arranged flights" This is from the email reply I have received but some people managed to have their applications expedited with proof of pre-arranged flights. Once again, we never know how CIC works.

When I tried calling them through the toll-free number, it keeps saying that the lines are busy.

It takes 30-45 min before one of CC agent picks up.

Well. You received PPR for PR on 8th Nov. Your clock will start from the date when your documents relevant to PPR for PR were received by Ottawa.

Yeah i called them and they told me that it is in printing room since nov 04 and not sure how much time gonna take more. I have already postponed my one flight which cost me $800 bucks. I m really sick and depressed. Dont know wht to do

Hi,

Just called CIC to speak with agent and leant that my application was approved.
Passport copy(visa exempt country) delivered on 23d of Nov.
Waiting for the return tracker activated.

Just let you know that my case is kinda complicated l. Received PPR on Oct 17th and sent the requested doc and photos on Oct 27th. Later learned that my doc was returned to me and they said I didn’t send photos. No kidding. I checked 100 times before sending it. Anyway, i sent them again and got it approved apparently.

No updates yet.

Called an IRCC agent today. she said they started processing my application on Dec 5th and that it takes a "good" one month from Dec 5th to get the CoPR printed, another week to get the return tracker activated.

Guess there are a lot of applicants!!
