Passport renewal after passport request for work permit visa

hi,
We received a request to send our passport after approval of work permit visa but my wife’s passport expires before the end of the visa duration. Can you advise me what to do? The request letter asked for the passport to be valid beyond the visa period otherwise they wouldn’t issue the visa.

Renew your passport and send it to them.

Thanks for the help but do you think They need to send me a new request or just send the new one instead of the old?

Send the new one and old showing cancelled since you applied with the old( i guess)
