Passport Renewal Address

I am a recently landed immigrant here in Canada. I migrated from India and landed in Aug, 2017. I have got my PR card since.

My passport is due to expire in August this year and I am looking to apply to the Indian consulate here for renewal. My question is regarding the address I should be providing for my new passport.

I am currently living in a rental accommodation in Mississauga, ON and might end up moving from here in June/ July. Should I still provide my current address for my new passport or can I still provide my previous (permanent) Indian address?

Would providing my previous Indian address have any implication on my passport of PR? Do I need to provide a Canadian address if I am applying for renewal in Canada?

If you are living in the rental house in Canada, provide that address. Indian consulate may not re-issue you the passport using your Indian address.
Once you move, get the passport changed with the new address. What's the big deal? Or renew the passport after you move and before the expiry.

When I renewed my passport back in 2012, i got the passport issued with my Canadian address.

No big deal. Was just trying to figure out whether they are expecting a Canadian address or a permanent one. The application page on the CGI website hardly explains it in any kind of detail.

You have to go through BLS Canada website and you should expect your Canadian Address on the Passport.
