Hi guys,

My wife passed citizenship test last week. But after the test, during interview, officer was quite rude and did not accept her papers. He told her to go and he will call her later. Also he asked for some irrelevant documents to be brought once he calls.
Then later he called her and said he will send a letter.
What does this mean? Any idea what is going on?

Can you be specific ? What documents did the interviewer ask?
How is her English language skills?. Interviews mostly only assess language skills and verify documents.

Yes thats what i thought
They mostly ask for few of the documents which we send (copies) with our application, they just check the orginals and ask few questions to check english language skills, that’s it

He asked her to get a few passport stamps translated which were after sending application. All other stamps on which she claimed to complete residency were in english. He asked her for marriage certificate also

its good to have any stamp translated in the passport, because you cannot prove its a trip after application sent. the only way to prove is certified translation. I have no idea why would he ask for marriage certificate, what made him doubt your marriage?

That's quite standard, I had to do the same. I had to translate all non English stamps in my old passport.

Sometimes, rarely, misrepresentation at the PR application stage is picked up at the citizenship application stage.
Maybe they want to recheck something....

I wouldn’t worry , if everything is on the up & up, and I’m sure you submitted all the correct documents thru the process everything should be fine
It’s only if something has caused them to take a second look, would there be a cause for concern
Note; Any documents become relevant once the government requests them
