Hello everyone, I had sponsored my Father for a PR. I applied in Dec 2007. The a**holes started processing in May 2012 and that's when I believe the app was tx to OTT Pilot visa office. Had the medical and PCC done in August 2012. Still nothing on their end. These conservatives are a bunch of losers - they never have and never will like non European ( read non - white) immigrants. My friends have had their parent's sponsorship done in 1-2 years before they came to power

Medicals Aug 2012

PCC Aug 2012

Then complete silence.

Only my dad who's 65 yr old on application.

Leaving the politics aside, the way it was going - Parents App was going nowhere so glad they did something about it. Perhaps the future can change the system and cut bias etc

However, you got 1 thing going for you is that your file is in CPP-O and you are extremely lucky as you still haven't seen the inefficient work from the LVO's like New Delhi etc and the inconvenience they cause. Comparatively, CPP-O is a cakewalk The only thing is patience and it usually takes around 8-9 months after meds and PCC, refer to timeline below

Hi Sumi my file was transfered in Sep 2012. No medical request so far but i received an AOR on mar 16'13. I will let you know whenever i receive medical req and you do the same.

waoo,
so frustrated with immigration process, it took five years to reach to LVO and now received a letter stating my sibling is not a dependent (over 22 yrs at the time of sponsorship and full time student until now)...I don't know what to do...so confused.
This is the first letter that I have received from LVO- after the file was transferred almost a year ago.

they should deal with the sibling age on the date of application filed, the same like they do with the proof of income.

that is very unfortunate, did they specify any reasons?

They just said that they have made a decision on my sibling as he's a not dependent and ask us to provide any explanation regarding their decision within 30 days.

ranja- this is the first communication from LVO after the AOR.

They said the reason for being a student for that long is to be considered as a dependent child.

I know about CPP-O ..It's been about 8 months and I hope they will respond soon ...Thanks for your encouraging post ...I know I'm pretty frustrated at the moment

Seriously i m so mad right now...that should not be their problem..they cannot judge us. The rule for 22+ dependant is to study regularly, not to get married that's all. But i know they do whatever they feel like. I suggest you fight for it dear also ask MP to write letter on your behalf that you have waited from so many yrs and your sibling was studying regulary to do something in his/her life not just to come to Canada.

how old is the dependent now? and can you provide details of the education?

I feel they don't more clarification on dependents, either have a fixed age and locked at time of sponsorship but when they this studies thing, they leave lotta room for speculation as you have to show documents to show its legit studies, I mean if it's a student, then that's it - study whatever they like
