6 months have now passed since documents sent to CPC-M, and still waiting for sponsorship approval.
Has CPC-M has gone quiet for the year?
The only thing which perplexes us is how people applied after us have been approved while ours is not in process yet. Really weird/

The only thing we can say for sure is that there is no consistent pattern of processing at each stage . You will see others with later applications moving ahead of you and some with much earlier applications still waiting. Not sure how it all works but maybe depends on who picks up your file plus other individual differences in applications. It is very frustrating though and the natural inclination is to want an explanation for everything. CIC works in mysterious ways and you may just have to be patient for the moment. Hope you hear something soon though.

under who should be examined: PR applications
it states that "All persons listed as immediate family members on your principal application form (IMM 0008) must be examined, whether or not they are accompanying you to Canada"

Does it only related to dependents who have been added to the imm0008 form???

I have another sibling who is not a dependent and has not been added to the imm0008 form, do they need to undergo medical testing as well???

Thanks.

I have a brother who is married and not a dependent. I did not include him in the sponsorship application, nor he was included in the PR application with parents. He did not under go any medical examination. His name was only mentioned in Additional Family Information under Children Section while my parents filled the form.

Basically your entire family ( immediate ) , dependent or not

I do not think this is correct. Only the principal applicant (who signed the main IMM008 form), spouse of that individual (whether accompanying or not) and the dependents listed in the main IMM008 needs to undergo the medicals. Adult children of the main applicant (sponsor's siblings) who are not dependent on their parents should not undergo medicals.

The language doesn't suggest the word "dependent" ( unless its implied )

Applicants must declare all family members when applying for a visa and must again declare all family members, whether accompanying or not, prior to obtaining permanent resident status. In addition, all family members, whether accompanying or not, must be examined, unless the appropriate officer determines that they are not required by the Act or the former Act to examine the family member

** So does this mean, it only applies to Dependents who are mentioned in IMM0008 but are not accompanying? I am just trying to understand the logic of having declared individual go for meds even if they are not accompanying but someone who is not mentioned and who is not accompanying, will not go through medical **

Family members who were not declared and examined are excluded from the family class and may not be sponsored at a later date as per R117(9)(d) unless R117(10) applies.

You couldnt have included him anyways right

This is what the medical request email would say:

Code:
[b]Who should be examined[/b]:
-	[b]Temporary Resident Applications[/b] (Visitors, Temporary Workers, Students): only the applicant must be examined.
-	[b]Permanent Resident Applications[/b]: [u]All persons listed as immediate family members on your principal application form[/u] (IMM 0008) must be examined, whether or not they are accompanying you to Canada.

Edit: IMM008 would contain only the sponsors parents and the sponsors siblings who are dependent on the parents. Siblings who are not dependent on the parents are not to be included in IMM008 (they should be included in the Additional family info form - like ranja mentioned)

Hello all,

I just checked my parents application status and it has changed from "application received" to "in process". it used to say we rec'd your application on June 25 and medicals have been received.

Now it says we rec'd your application on June 25, medicals have been received, and We started processing your application on Nov 16, 2012. What could this mean. I intially was to check through the posts if someone had the same experience

Hi Spring 1

Mine was similar, I had application received 4th November 2009, then it read we started processing your application 26th October 2012 - medical received. On 26th November 2012 this status changed to - Decision made. I have not had decision as yet communicated.

So basically

Dependent Sibling = YES But NOT Accompanying and mentioned in IMM008 will have to go through meds
Non-Dependent Sibling = shouldn't be in IMM0008 and in that case, doesn't need to go through meds anyways

*Don't have any sibling, most of this was air view, when I saw that ALL FAMILY MEMBERS part the 1st time, I was like why everyone but now its clear, so Ranja's sis doesnt have to go through meds at all **

Hi Canvis2006,

In this situation I would contct my local MP and get the status update from his office. I was in the same situation earlier and I did the same. All the best.

I guess it is related to dependents accompanying or dependents not accompanying. If someone is not a dependent then he/she is not even counted. I haven't heard anyone having medicals of siblings when they were not even included in PR application.

I need your help with GCMS. In my GCMS note, medical not started but the due date is April 2013. Any idea what does this mean?

In my case, the due date mentioned on the GCMS notes was March 2013. Got the medical request a few days ago. Like Shuga mentioned, its just a tentative date (12 months from date of transfer or sponsorship approval). Most likely, you'd get the medical request much much earlier (fingers crossed).
