Lucky, send through VFS is always the best
Thank you! Yeah I am also planning to send through VFS. There is another option given of sending to Canadian Consulate in New Delhi but I am sure VFS service will be much faster and convenient.
Good luck on your file too!

Question to those whose parents did medical exam in Canada: do your parents speak English or did your doctor speak their language? Or did you translate everything for them during the exam?

I am trying to figure out how it is going to work (my parents do not speak English and there are no DMPs in our area that would speak their language). I was planning to go with them but wondering if doctors have any issues with that.

Please share your experiences!

Medicals were completed in Canada. I translated all questions and answers for my mother's medical and had no concerns/ problems at all. I think I paid $10 more for "translation", that is all.

Hi!
I have great news to share: CPP-Ottawa approved our application and a visa will be issued but the estimated timeline is not available at this stage.
My MP said if I have not heard from CIC by end of this month to contact them again.
So finally the waiting is almost over!
Good luck to all of you!

When did file your sponsorship application? Did you receive this information directly from CPP-Ottawa or through your MP?

Thanks!
Did you parents have to do the 'mental status check' questions/ tasks? A friend of mine just took her mother to do medicals (she is over 70 but is totally fine physically and mentally). Anyway, because she is over 70, the doctor asked her do to certain things to check her mental status: e.g. asked to remember three words, repeat and then after a while asked again, then asked to draw some images, count backwards subtracting 3 etc (similar to what is suggested in designated medical practicioner book)
Her mom is actually studying english now (still basic level) so she understood some basic things and was able to do those tests without her daughter's translation needed
But my parents have no English at all (other than knowing select words and please/thank you and "i don't speak english")
They are totally fine mentally but I am worried that they may still may need my help translating.
Anyway, I wil check with the doctor's office of course...

Does anyone know if my brother can drop off my parents passports at the VFS office without my parents accompanying him? Thanks for your help! Any other information like procedure etc. will be highly appreciated.
Tks

Yes. With an authority letter from your parents. 2 authority letters needed - one for drop-off and one for pick-up...

Hi guys, in couple of months my brother is going to be 22 years old. At the time of initial application he was Type A dependent and 18. my file got transferred to New Delhi last month. as far I know he will maintain Type A dependent status regardless of age as long as he doesn't get married. and he doesn't have to be a full time student. am I right? I there any change in the immigration policy that have changed the definition or criteria of a dependent that I may not be aware of? Thanks

I must have missed the post from nabha with the news that visas had been issued from Ottowa. Congratulations to nabha and anyone else at final stages . At least we can now see that Ottowa is processing ,however slowly ,so there is hope for us all. Keep posting and add timelines .
