Little more progress in my parent'scase. ECAS under parent's UCI shows "In Process" under Permanent Residence Application Status. When I click the "In Process", it shows two lines. First is "We received your application for permanent residence on April 15, 2008" and second line is "We started processing your application on June 22, 2012".
pls. update when you get request for medical

we applied oct 2009 and we got the visa this week.

I don't think this particular case is in the parents sponsorship timeline table?

They stopped as of 5th Nov 2011

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/media/releases/2011/2011-11-04.asp

To prevent the build-up of an unmanageable number of new applications during these consultations and to further reduce the 165,000-strong backlog of parent and grandparent applicants, CIC is putting in place a temporary pause of up to 24 months on the acceptance of new sponsorship applications for parents and grandparents. The pause comes into effect on November 5, 2011

Hello ALL,

I have recieved a Medical Request for my parents via email. In the email it says "PLEASE NOTE: If your medical results are sent to Ottawa instead of the responsible medical office, the file will be forwarded to the responsible medical office, causing further delays. "

My parents are in India and will get their medical done, but I am confused if the doctor have to send the medicals to responsible medical office or he has to mail if to Ottawa?

Also responsible medical office is same as Local VISA office... Please advise . Appreciate!!!

Thanks

CIC stopped taking NEW applications for parents/grandparents sponsorship in November 2011...

CIC requested additional documents from those who applied for sponsorship in 2007-2008-2009 in November 2011 and March 2012... Nobody knows foor sure if CIC keeps the same pattern and asks another batch of applicants to send additional info in July - August of 2012... or they already fulfilled the quota and won't ask for additional documents until 2013...

it looks like Ottawa medical office is getting too many results from DMPs from other countries... so they want medicals to go to local medical offices instead of Ottawa...

Hi Shuga,

Where it is written that it has already filled the quota?

I have applied for my parents in 2010, so was wondering if we will be lucky enough to ask for documents this year..

i don't think it's written anywhere is any official source... it looks like CPC-M is slowing down comparing with the beginning of this year... so people are speculation about it... i've seen nothing oficial about it...

there was a post from sponsorazer based on the conversation with the call center agent... but call center agents are not very reliable... so nobody knows if it's true or not...
sponsorazer said:
Quick update. Bad news guys !!! Spoke to the call center's agent and he said that those who did not get yet approvals for the sponsorship will need to wait for another year... :o Sounds like the door that was a bit opened for us is closed again... :(

and even if they fulfulled the quota - cic still might ask for additional documents this year to start reviewing them next year...

I have good news as well as bad news. We applied for our parents sponsorship in July 2009. We submitted additional docs together in a same package. I have received an approval for my parents but didn't receive any communication for my in-laws. Bit unfortunate.
My Timelines are:
Applied: July 2009
Additional Doc's Requested: March 30, 2012
Doc's Submitted: May 18, 2012
Doc's Received: May 22, 2012
AOR Received: May 28, 2012
Sponsorhip Approval: June 15, 2012
File Transferred: CPP-Ottawa
Medical & PCC request: N.A

No dependants on our files. I don't understand their procedure for processing the files at CPC-Mississauga. Especially when they have received both files on a same date.
