Guys, I have never called CIC Agents, however I need to confirm if they got my IM5476 and corrected my email. I tried to call but here's a maze of dial this, dial that

What is the shortcut to get CS on the phone, like dial the toll free and press 1-1-3? etc

If I recall correctly, I am dialing their toll free number then
as soon as I hear the voice I press 1 (for english),
then when the next voice message starts I press 2 (I think this option is for 'check status of the application")
tehn when the next recorded message starts I press 2 (for sponsorship application)
Then I press 0 as soon as I hear voice to transfer to the agent

To sum up: after dialing tall free, it will be 1-2-2-0 (and you can press each number as soon as you hear the next step's recorded message start)However, I was never able to get through on monday -wed (thu and Fri are better). On mon-wed when I tried the system would make me go through all steps but then it tells that all lines are busy and please try later and disconnects me.

I always dial 1-3-0 and speak to an agent. Don't even know what these options are, but i do it for a long time.

Hi Blue-angel ! So it's in Makati. My parents are in the Philippines. If ever, I would tell them to go to Malate instead - St. Lukes extension. Thanks for your feed back.

Just got an approval - June 23, 2012 for my parents. Ottawa processing. From your experience, how long is the processing time in Ottawa ?

Hi ConnieCL, I got the approval in March and my mother got the medical request in June (though the letter was dated May 10)...

User828, did you manage to get through? Did the agents happen to tell anything new?

busy line, didnt get through

Well said, Kandel.

Do not loose hope and hope for the best, be positive. You have come so far. Just think for them who cannot sponsor their family anymore and forget that CIC will ever open it after 2 years.

those who want to sponser there0 parents have to wait upto 6 years because 2 years they have stop accepting new application and if they open after two years and it will take at least 4 years in processing which make 6 years :-[

Little more progress in my parent'scase. ECAS under parent's UCI shows "In Process" under Permanent Residence Application Status. When I click the "In Process", it shows two lines. First is "We received your application for permanent residence on April 15, 2008" and second line is "We started processing your application on June 22, 2012".
