The point you are missing is that there is extremely low number of visa compared to the num of applicants. So no matter what process they follow, there is bound to be backlog/delays. Yes, Ottawa is asking fo medicals, but medicals in itself is not a visa. Let us wait and see how soon they issue the actual visa...
my point is if Ottawa can ask for medical in just couple of weeks why cant ND? at least the process of medical is done and now they passports will be asked and then visa is issued and for people at other offices e.g. ND - files transferred in Jan and still waiting for medical and then medical will be requested may be in 2 - 3 months and then passport requested may be after 8 - 9 months.......just imagine how long that will be and for those whose medical already done are way ahead......also if you see spreadsheet more than 40% cases transferred to Ottawa got medical and not a single medical request for ND? wow.......adorable way of working isn't it?

and btw medical is the second last step for visa :), so those whose medicals are done are sooooo close for visa and join family!!!!!!!!!!

i think that CIC does not want to be sued or get complaints about discrimination and processing some cases before others... so call agents simply try to calm people down telling that everything is fair to avoid compaints...
yes. they are very careful in their responses.

you can also think about it this way...medicals are done for Ottawa but passports are not requested in a year and people have to do another medical (this happened a lot through Buffalo). And, maybe, when New Delhi asks for medicals, they will ask for passports quickly.
Who knows...

This is all speculation.

And sakamath is right, there are way more applicants than visas allowed in a given year, thus, backlogs.

yes.....they didn't process applications which resulted in backlog and now we are paying the price

Those who already ordered GCMS notes: can you please help me with completing IMM5563 form for ordering GCMS notes?
cic is constantly changing the form... i ordered GCMS notes 3 times and every time the form was different...

I would not order physical file unless you are 100% sure you need it because it will take time to send the package from where it is to Access and Information Act department and back... so i would check the box for Electronic files + check options for Status of an Application + Reason for refusal + Permanent Residence... i think it won't hurt if you also select temporary residence if you want to see what happened when your parents applied for TRV...

i think that you need to provide as much info as you can - file number, your client ID, etc... i don't think they will be confused by your client ID... when i ordered FOSS for the first time i did not know my mother's UCI so i put mine and i got the notes...

i will receive my GCMS notes next week or early July - i ordered only Electronic filed this time - so i will tell what's included... Last time i also got copies of all documents that cic has (copies of my parent's passports, forms they completed, pcc, medical and even my mom's x-ray)...

Hi Shuga
Very intereseting your message.
I will order FOSS for my father. So it's better 1st time to order physical file? When you had copies of your parents documents did you order physical file?

PLEASE HELP ..I applied for my parents in April 2009

Parents and my brother as dependent 5 people I had just enough income to apply with my wife cosigne
but my wife lost her job end of 2008 and I'm like 500 short on my minimum income for 2009 .. would they let it go for such a small differance since i have more than enough for 2010 , 2011 and will have for future ?

2nd question .. my brother is not dependent anymore and will not be coming to Canada as he is married. so would they still looking for minimum income for 5 as orignal or FOR 4 as he is not included any more?

Thanks
