Not sure why. Maybe because the address that was filled out in the PCC form had that date in it.
We came to know this yesterday, when we got back the PCC. It took over 5 weeks to get it from the police authorities in India. Now my dilemma is should we submit the PCC as it is with those dates, or apply for another one from the Indian Consulate in Toronto? If we apply for one (it will have to be only next week as passports will be needed for medical tests) it takes 6 weeks for Indian Consulate to issue one and our deadline for submission is 3rd June .... ahhhhhhhhhhh

Any issues in submitting it as it is?

Thanks and regards
It seems your parents are NOT in India now. Otherwise I would have suggested to apply fresh PCC at passport office.
I think now you can submit as is (as there is a 60 day deadline to submit) and may be later you apply for new PCC and submit an updated one.

the only issue that i see is that it will not be enough and CIC will ask to sumbit additional PCC to cover the period since your parents age of 18... no harm in sending this one...

different forum - same people :)
:) Yeah, I just signed in two other forums, lets see if I find someone whose application also waiting for "background checks to complete"

Thank you for your response..Can anybody guide me on what type (format or any details) of affidavits are required for parents who do not have birth certificate and marriage certificate.
Will they have to submit 3 affidavits (1 for father for birth cert, 1 for mother for birth cert and 1 for marriage cert) or can they submit only 1 certificate for both of them for birth and marriage..

Thanks in advance for your help

Thanks sponsorparents and Shuga!

Thats what I'll do then. I'll submit the PCC as it is right now so that I meet the 60 day deadline. Parallely, I'll apply for the PCC from the consulate in Toronto and when I receive that one, I send that to CIC with a letter explaining the reason. Hope they will be fine with all this.

Thanks again for your guidance. And good luck to all of us!!!

nothing for me :'(

Family_Guy, if i were you, that what i would have done.
1. Apply for a new CPP right away at the Consulate.
2. If you don't get a new one from the Consulate by May 20 or so, submit the one you have right now explaining that you applied for another one and still waiting. Because the chances are that you will get a new one by May 20th or so, then you will have time to translate and submit the correct one.

nothing for me as well :(
nothing new for me.
just hung up with CIC call centre agent.
i had one question about PCC with him. Since in the november letter we were all told to start preparing for the PCC , my dad had already submitted the request in Dec 2011 and then they were all done by Jan 2012; I asked the agent whether I should send them to CPC Mississauga or not as PCC older than 3 months would have to be done again! the agent just said its upto me whether i want to send them or not .. since i have it i can send it and if they ask later maybe i would have to do a new set of PCCs for my parents and my dependent brother!
but as an FYI the agent told me PCCs are valid for 1 year.. :S.. so i got confused again..
in any case Im planning to send all the PCCs to CPC Mississauga.

raatri,
yes, they are valid for one year. But you have to submit them before the 3 month period over :o
I know, it doesn't make much sense...but many things at CIC don't make much sense.
I talked to CIC about my mom's PCC...I cannot submit it now, as it was issued in Dec 2011. So we ordered a new one. I will then submit even if they won't ask by then.

I have not received the letter for the medicals and Police certificate. I understand that one has 30 days to do the medicals; however, I do not know how many days one has to do the police certificate.
Does anyone know?
Thank you!

Nothing for me :( (no dependents though but still no change :( )
So frustrating...I feel so angry sometimes - it has been over 4 years for me now (since Dec 2007) and God knows how more it is going to take (let a alone the second stage)...

I was hoping to see something after the long weekend but alas...No change in status, no mail, no email...

Anyone's status changed after yesterday?

I called CIC today and they told me that the file has been transferred to new Delhi. The application has just my parents, no dependents. Has anybody got medical request from New Delhi?
My Timelines:
Application Date: June 3, 2008
Additional Documents Submitted: Feb 13, 2012
AOR: March 29, 2012
Status Changed to 2 lines: April 1, 2012
Got letter from CIC that the application is complete and will be processed in processing queue: April 6, 2012 .. letter dated Mar 27, 2012
No update on ECAS so far, just 2 lines, Application Received on both.

Oh, I guess it is kind of good news/bad news (maybe they made a mistake about it being New Delhi - I know there were cases when agents told local VO but file got transffered to Ottawa in the end)

So unfair for the ones who get transferred to local VO :-( The queue order is already messed up and now with transfer to local VO many people who applied earieler will have to wait a long time again and end up way behind :(
