Is it possible, that they send the visa directly without updating ecas (just a thought out of frustration)

Yeah it's possible that u wil get d passport and they might change the online status earlier.
I can say that when my sister got approval as a sponcer in Canada they got the decision letter but online they updated as decision made...after a month or so.
Don't just rely on ecas.

Yes, there is one dependent aged less than 22 at the time of sponsorship application.
Medicals done on Jan 12, 2013.
Ecas changed from Application Receieved -> Decision Made. and passports came right after 4 days after ecas change.
