Hi, your status in timeline was blank regarding med request, saw ur last posts here - never saw anything about meds requests. Congrats on receiving/status changing as there were few of us in that time period who are still waiting

So it took only 3 weeks to update the status.and they were working on Christmas eve.Thats very good news.

Hey All.. I have one question for you guys! I heard that medical test also includes eye checkup. My mom has "Glaucoma" also called "Kaala Paani" in her eyes. In our case is this eye condition to be worry about? Or is it normal? My mom has to see a doctor every 3-4 months for checkup and has to take 3 eye drops on a continuous basis to control the eye pressure. I just hope this eye condition is not a problem. One more question, does my mom have to take her reports of "Glaucoma" with her when we go for the medicals? Should we tell them about it, or just keep it to ourselves! Because i think it should be a normal eye checkup :O. I am really worried now :/..

Has anyone faced similar sort of situation,i would really appreciate if some one could throw light on this issue.. Though we have not received the medical request yet, but i wanna know everything in advance :/.. Thanks alot for the reply in advance :)

Panel Physicians do a normal eye checkup. Results of Fundoscopy Eye Exam (which does reveal the Glaucoma condition) report are required to be provided. The new Medical Report/Medical History Questions Form has two questions about eyes and vision. There is a following note in the form:

FOR ABNORMAL FINDINGS, PLEASE PROVIDE: HISTORY, DIAGNOSIS, TREATMENT DETAILS (INCLUDING DATES AND MEDICATIONS),
LAB RESULTS, SPECIALIST REPORTS (AS REQUIRED), CURRENT STATUS AND PROGNOSIS.

Thanks alot rajaji for the reply! Does this mean that it is not an issue if an applicant has a glaucoma condition? I just hope it does not lead to rejection of application :/.. The doctor my mom goes to said that she doesnot require a surgery for glaucoma since it's risky. So the pressure of the eye is controlled through 3 different types of eye drops and a regular checkup after every 3 months.

I do not think this condition can be a reason for rejection. People with heart conditions have received approvals...Keep Medical reports, Treatment details etc. and if needed provide the details to Panel Physician. Final decision is made by the CIC health department.

yeah will take the medical reports of the glaucoma along with us to show the panel physician. Thanks alot rajaji :).. Feel a bit relaxed now! Glaucoma was the only issue i was concerned about, since we dont have any previous medical condition except this.

Medical rejection is somewhat belongs to contagious diseases/sickness, i might be wrong but that's what my understanding.
I hope it won't reject but you should disclose it to DMP and also ask your mom to check with her doctor and see what doctor has to say on this.

Reasons for inadmissibility:

•health grounds – if their condition is likely to:
endanger public health or public safety, or
cause excessive demands on health or social services

You are good if your mom does not require an eye surgery in next 5-10 years. Seeing an eye specialist every couple of months and getting an eye drop for your mom is not a cause of rejection.

My dad had a by-pass heart surgery done in India in Feb 2012. We went to DMP for medicals in April, 2012 and extra heart tests were done along with 1st medicals. We got additional medical request and that were done in July, 2012 and doctor wrote that my dad does not require a heart surgery in next 5 years. My dad passed medicals.

One of my friends mom has eye issues (don't know what) and she has to get an expensive eye injection every month in India. My friend told me that the same kind of injection costs significant times in Canada as compared to India. They told DMP about the eye condition and also about the monthly eye injection. She passed her medicals as well and they have got PPR for New Delhi LVO. Their file was in CPP-O.

Please do not hide anything from the DMP. Give them reports that you currently have.
