When you fill the form, they ask how many brothers and sisters ( their names and addresses ) so they knew we had relatives and technically you can't lie. I am not sure what would have been their answer if there were no relative or we could have applealed saying its impractical but there are lot of other reasons like 'you knew would be separated with child when he went to Canada' so its not something new to you, whatever is done is your own action - almost GOD like. I mean its not enough for any immigration officer to gauge issues, by a form, only individuals know what kind of problem they go through
I read articles about how H&C grounds were refused or someone from Mexico who knew she will be killed when she went back home, I mean if cases like these are refused then I am way back in the list

But - on the bright side, my file got approved and they are visiting me now in Visit visa ( although this is their 3rd Multiple visit visa and extensive travel history ) so we waited like everyone else and now around the corner

yes, it looks like the immigration officers have their own reasons and think that they are equal to God in their decisions for files approvals, and we have no options than to try finding the ways to get reunited with our loved ones.....

they were generous enough to grand your parents multiple entry visas and you are luky to have them here with you in Canada and soon they will get their sponsorship approved!

I am the only child too... my Mom is my only relative - she has no brothers, nor sisters, and both of her parents passed away...
my family and kids are the only ones she has in this world...

I have heard single parents cases are successful on H&C Grounds, but get a very good immigration lawyer. Consultants are useless, they will do anything for a fee

Hi,

can someone provide some feedback on this:

I applied to sponsor my parents in 2009, i got a letter confirming receipt of my application in May 2009

Jan 2012: received letter requesting submitting additional documents (pretty much like applying all over again)

after some back and forth i got a letter in Aug 2012 stating that my application is now complete and its in queue

i tried to contact immigration canada because i am not sure is the 31-55 month wait time for step 1 starts as of Aug 2012 or May 2009 when i first submitted my application?!

also, based on your experience what are the next steps from this Aug 2012 letter?

RPRF Paid : April 2012
File got transferred to Ottawa : July 2012

eCAS status remains unchanged since January (IN PROGRESS with MEDICAL RECEIVED), no communications, not even I/parents received a notification from Buffalo or Ottawa that file fot transferred (I read it in the newspaper that Buffalo office is closing down and all applications are moving to Ottawa 'Pilot Office')...

What is possibly creating a delay to move to the next step, i.e. to MAKE A DECISION? Any ideas? Anyone? What can I do in this situation?

What is the status of Security and Criminality in GCMS notes? If they are in progress or not started, possibly that is the only thing holding CIC back in order to make a decision.

Am looking at the 2012Q2 data for ND LVO and the numbers are not adding up. can anyone help me see whats going on?

here is what i think

so on april 8 2012 they had 6714 in queue and 1697 in final stage.

between april and june they got 94 more applications while finalizing 1526.

so now the total number should be 6714+1697+94-1526= 6979.

but the actual numbers in june show 7787 in queue with 1611 in final decision which adds up to 9398.

why is the number ballooning up while I was expecting it to go lower.

in Access to information form i selcetd the electronic files and status of an applications , i am confused about the locations for it since now my file is transfer to India already should i put missisuga or should i put new delhi ? to see whats going on my applications. i also selcet the imigrations file in canada and selected permanent residence and choose the missisuaga as locations is that right ? or i dont needs to select this options
also can we ask for the EMial and CD both for option wish to recive the records ?
