Hi Everyone,
Today my dad received an odd email from Ottawa office. My parents visited me last year so now Ottawa office wants to know if they are within in Canada or in home country. They are saying that they need this information so that they can send the file to the appropriate office to finalize the case. Has anyone received this type of email? Just curious!
I interpret from this email that Ottawa will transfer the cases to the home country to finalize the immigration i.e. PPR will come from the home country if someone is not within Canada. For those whose parents are already in Canada they may receive PPR within Canada. I guess it will relieve some of the people here on this forum who were worried if their parents need to go back to the home country to get their passports stamped.
Thanks

For what country ICJ?

Today I received letter for “application complete” dated May 28th, below is my timeline
Application filed: July 2009
Additional Documents requested: March 30, 2012
Documents sent: May 16th, 2012
Documents received by CIC: May 17th, 2012

Also, wondering what is the difference between steps “application complete” and “approved as sponsorship” as if CIC go through all documents to determine application is complete why at the same time they can’t review it for approval (seems to be they can save time by doing this).

For my application, my status changed from "Application Received" to "Decision Made" directly. I guess CIC officer checked all documents you submitted, and you don't miss any supporting documents, but they haven't started to process your file yet.

Thanks very much spons for your reply. Is that person in this forum as well? If not can you let me know how I can follow his/her timeline? waiting eagerly for any updates from anybody whose file was transfered to ankara,
Thanks again

Shjooya, You are welcome! The person I was referring to is not in this forum. I do not know the details of her timeline. I am only aware that she received the request to send additional documents in November 2011 and her file was transferred to Ankara in February . I have asked her to contact me if she gets any update.

That's good news. Congraulation...

My additional documents were received by CIC-M on May 14, 2012. But, I haven't heard anything yet.
Do you have dependant in your case? I have 1 dependant brother in my case.

Hi ICJ,

What's your parents' status on E-cas? Is that "In process"?

Congrats Van80. After 4 weeks, I still don't see status updated in my parents case, may be CIC have requested additional medical tests ???

I phoned the CIC call centre before and I was told it may take three month for CIC officers to update the medical info on E-Cas. It took me more than 1.5 to see "Medical Results Received" status updated on my E-Cas.
