Finally I received the approval letter today (May 29th) dated May 24th and my parents file (no dependent) has transfered to local visa office-Ankara. I was wondered if there is any body else in this forum with LVO of Ankara (parents residing in Iran) processing their application??? I have now noooooooooo idea that how long it might take from this step...any ideas???

Shjooya:
My file was transferred to Ankara as well. I know someone whose file was transferred to Ankara two months ago. No update yet. Mine was transferred to Ankara a few days before yours. I guess we should wait at least a few months before we hear from them.

@ sponsorparents

I sent out the additional documents to CPC-Miss and they received it today(may 29/12). Please pray that everything will be OK and i get approved.
How long do you think it will take them to response?

SZ
Will do. As far as I know sponsorship approval is straight forward, if you pass income criteria, you will most likely get approval. Regarding response, I think you can expect to receive an AOR with in a month and the decision probably in 2-3 months time. For more accurate timelines, you could check the link in my signature below. Good Luck and Best wishes.

Thanks very much spons for your reply. Is that person in this forum as well? If not can you let me know how I can follow his/her timeline? waiting eagerly for any updates from anybody whose file was transfered to ankara,
Thanks again

Ankara is currently one of the fastest CIC sites in the world. But unfortunately, because Canada's visa section in Iran was closed and transferred to Ankara, it's expected that the processing times will slow down. Can't believe CIC did that.

Also, all entry visas that are stamped in passports will be issued in CPC-Ottawa for those who are in Canada on study and work permits. That means tens of thousands of applications every year. Hopefully, this won't have much effect on the processing times for those whose parent sponsorship applications were transfered to CPC-O.

hate saying this - but your case might be similar to mine... medicals sent to London beginning of March, additional test are required - but i did not receive a request... status did not change to 'Medicals received' (i believe it changes when medicals are passed)...

Hi Shuga - you were correct...my parent's medicals were reviewed March 15 and today (yes, May 30!) I received a letter from the London med Review office asking for additional info. The letter was dated 15 March and gave 90 days to comply. The additional information they were requesting were tests that were already done in February and submitted along with medicals. I have written a complaint letter as this is unacceptable. Did you/your mum ever receive a letter requesting the additional tests?

we havent received the oficial request for additional test but my mom already started doing them... i'm not concerned with getting the request from cic - just upset with wasting 2 months after medicals to know that they want something else + 2 months to complete additional TB test... and i'm absolutely sure that my mom doesnt have TB...

I heard about same cases Shuga, that they requested additional TB test, cause when taking vaccine for TB, it shows at the test and they suspect that it is the TB itself not the vaccine, it is common and just waste of time, everything will be OK.

Still waiting for approval

Hi Everyone,
Today my dad received an odd email from Ottawa office. My parents visited me last year so now Ottawa office wants to know if they are within in Canada or in home country. They are saying that they need this information so that they can send the file to the appropriate office to finalize the case. Has anyone received this type of email? Just curious!
I interpret from this email that Ottawa will transfer the cases to the home country to finalize the immigration i.e. PPR will come from the home country if someone is not within Canada. For those whose parents are already in Canada they may receive PPR within Canada. I guess it will relieve some of the people here on this forum who were worried if their parents need to go back to the home country to get their passports stamped.
Thanks

thats the good news for ottowa file ppl ICJ, hope fully your parents recive the PR fast :) good luck :D
