I posted this in the 2010 Parents sponsorship thread, and I am posting it here also...

Hi everyone - new member here.

My sister who is a Canadian citizen sponsored my Father's application - that was initiated in 2009.
Earlier this year, around first week of February, 2014, we did the medical exam for my Father in Mumbai, India, and submitted the final leg of the application.
We are still awaiting the PR approval.
I have few questions -
  • Do the Medical exam results expire exactly 1 year from the date the medical exam was done?
  • Does the applicant (senior citizen in this case) have to repeat the entire medical exam if the PR approval happens just after 1 year from the first medical exam? Are there any exceptions?
  • Does the applicant have to actually land in Canada before the expiration of the Medical exam?
Please advise... Thank you.

The best would be to call 1-888-242-2100 and ask them

Just want to ask a quick question.

I submitted my parents sponsorship application in Aug 2010 with preceding twelve months income from Aug 2009 - Aug 2010.

I received the letter for additional documents , the first question they asked was to submit option C for the tax year you submitted the original sponsorship application and the original option c printout for the year before you submitted the application.

does that mean I have to send the Option C for 2009-2010 or 2008-2009 ?

Thanks,
Ali

Hi,
I had a question, when sendind photos of my mother and sibling, I have only added photos of those who are accompanying her to canada, one sister is 26 and independent and a bro is 20 but he got married and has his own job so no finincailly dependent on my mother, and he and my sister both will not accompany her to canada. Thats why I did not ask them for photo. Will CIC accept it or wt?

Hey guys,

I got married recently and want to add my wife as co-signer for better reflection of financial situations. Would her income from her 2010 Option C Printout would be considered for my parents' sponsorship because I started the application in 2010, or her income only from the year that we got married would be counted for financial test purposes?

Thanks
