Hello Forum

My parents first medicals were done 11/Aug/2011 which expired 10/Aug/2012 with background checks still pending. Now they went through another medical on 9/April/2013 and by the way of CAIPS notes we came to know that the background checks are still pending. Anybody any advice please. Thanks
Were they in Military or Police? Why background checks are taking so long? You should talk to your MP

Yes, I would think that way too, especially when you mother has permission to stay in Canada for longer than a year... Do you sponsor just you mother or there are dependents on your file too?
Any possibility that the person who is already in Canada can have their parent sponsorship visa issued in canada without having to leave back to home country? Or has such cases ever occurred and accepted by cic? Anyone any thoughts?

I mean each of you should fill this form in with all of each of yours information, for example, you fill this form in starting from Section A down to C. In Section A you write your name, address, email, then names and info of your parents, then in other sections names and info of your brothers, sisters, children if applicable, etc. At the end you sign and date it. The same way for the rest members of your family.
Suin,
Form imm5406 ques again :) . On section A, by applicant do they mean only the principal applicant or the other accompanying applicants as well? There is no instruction guide provided for this but cic instructed us to refer to the guide :o
Should the section A be completed by non accompanying dependent at all, if they don't fill sec A then where would they put their name on this form.

We have not heard any files being transferred to Ottawa recently, even if the parents are here in Canada - the good example to that is ehuang - his parents are here with him in Canada, but the file was transferred to the local visa office overseas.

This form should be filled in and signed by each applicant - the main applicant and dependents separately - all the sections. Dependent should write all his/hers information starting from Section A - his/her name, address, information about parents, their address, etc.

Hi

I received the approval email on Oct 2013 but don't know where the file transfer to
It just say

You have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor. Accordingly, the Application for Permanent Residence for your relative(s) has been forwarded for further processing

I called CIC and the said it will be transferred to HongKong
But I doubt as the letter mentions

If at any time during processing, it is determined that local knowledge is required, the file may be forwarded to the relevant visa office for processing and final decision

The contact is still cic Mississauga!

Anyone has idea?

My timeline is

Application received by cic miss. Jan6 2011
Doc request. Aug 2013
Doc sent sept 13 2013
Sponsorship approved on oct 15 2013

It's a generic letter. If the agent said that your file was transferred to the local office of your parents country of residence that is where it's gone to then.

Maybe January 6 2011 is the AOR letter?

Just cannot understand Mississauga people - they send approval letters to people who sent their updated applications on September 13... but there is no news on applications sent on August 15 - 21?

Unbelievable.

I cannot understand any of them. They are the same at CPC-M or most VO's across the world. Not following a sequential approach for processing applications. I applied in April 2007, still waiting; and I see that some applications of 2009 have received their PR visas.

I called them this morning. The agent could not answer my question - just kept saying that it takes upto 10 weeks to get the decision on the sponsorship eligibility. And asked us to call back next week (as it will be 10 weeks after our updated on was sent to Mississauga).

The agent said that the documents request was sent to the applicants who had applied in December 2009 - May 2010 only.

At least now we have the answer to the most popular question - how long it takes for Missisauga to make a dicision on the 1 stage (sposorship elegibility).

It takes CPC-M upto 10 weeks from the date the complete package was received by them to issue the decision on the sponsorship eligibility.

If by some reason someone has not received the decision on his/her sponsorship eligibility by the end of the 10th week, they need to contact the CIC and the CIC agent will contact CPC-M directly regarding that person's file.

Yes that is correct information.
I have called the CIC agent and the agent informed me that it will take 10 weeks maximum to reach to the decision and if you will not heard within this 10 weeks period i.e. 18th November 2013 in my case then i need to contact them again for the status.

One thing is clear that each CIG agent has a different knowledge and they dont have a complete access to our application and so we can only get some information about how CPC-M working from these agents but certainly they do not have a complete access to the application. I think they have the same access like we have on ECAS over the Internet to check the status of the application.

Anyone get the Sponsorship approval second letter after the first AOR letter?
Any update?

Thx
