@Shebby54 Did you get medical letter yet.
We got pre-arrival letter on July 10 but nothing after that
Hey, yes I got the Pre-arrival on Jul 3 and medical request on Jul 13.
i submitted another PGP application on same day 2nd Aug, its still pending at biometerics only.

We recieved final decision july 23 2026
And ircc sent email :

This is in reference to your application for permanent residence in Canada under the Parents and Grandparents program.

The processing of your application for permanent residence in Canada is almost complete. You will receive instructions regarding your permanent residence landings shortly, however we would first like to clarify some of our landing procedures.

Is this means were gonna wait for portal 1 to be sent???

Pre-arrival actually has nothing to do with processing being close to being finalized. It is purely procedural and comes any time after eligibility is passed. You still haven’t reached posted processing time and the backlog is quite significant. All you can do is wait but you are still incredibly lucky to have the chance to sponsor your parents even if it takes another year or two to process the application.

I have applied for my parents on July 21, 2024. Received the Biometric request & a couple of ADR as my father used to work in Military in early 2025 but nothing since after. Is it normal ? has someone else experiencing the same timeline ? I checked the online processing time calculator and it suggested that 14 more months are left which seems pretty crazy. Anyway just hoping to get some sense if this is normal timeline

Normal processing time especially if you account for the ADRs and military service which could actually add more than the 14 months to processing time. There is a large backlog of applicants and the annual quotas have been lowered to somewhat more reasonable given the state of healthcare and the ageing population in Canada. No matter how long the processing ends up being your parents are still extremely lucky to have the opportunity to apply for PGP. There are hundreds of thousands of people who would like to be in your place.

Hello,
My father's medical passed on July 26, 2026.
If the application is approved, what is the next step.
My father is currently visiting us in Canada but the application is not an Inland application.
1. Do they usually send a passport request for all??
2. Since he is currently inland, can we notify IRCC for a P1 portal request??

Thanks

We got the PAL for the second time on Aug 6th. Not sure why?

Has he passed all his background checks? If he has he will get in line for FD, then P1 and P2. There is a backlog and IRCC only accepts a certain amount of applications per month so it could still take a while. All you can do is just wait and monitor for any IRCC correspondence.

No - background check and eligibility are in progress. What is the current time line for getting FD after medical is passed??
