Parents & Grandparents Program(PGP) 2025

Hi everyone,

I'm sponsoring my mother under the PGP 2025 program.

Here is our timeline:

• Application submitted: August 1, 2025
• Biometrics completed: January 16, 2026
• Sponsor Approval (SA): January 21, 2026
• Medical passed: October 29, 2026
• Applicant Eligibility: In progress
• Background Check: In progress
• Final Decision: Pending

I have a few questions for anyone with a similar timeline:

1. Has anyone from the PGP 2025 intake already received a final decision, PPR, or COPR?
2. How long did it take from medical passed to background check completion or final approval?
3. Why the Application Eligibility still in progress.

I'd really appreciate it if you could share your timeline and experience.

Most end up having to do a second medical before they get PPR. Others timeline isn’t a good predictor of your timeline. When/if you get a second medical that would indicate you are close to getting a final decision. Posted processing time is around 3 years so plan for 3 years and be happy if you get PPR before then. Also eligibility not being passed could be for many reasons.
