the issue is with number of family members. Use this formula. It you are the sponsor and you have sponsored 2 parents , enter 3 as the number of family members, irrespective of how many people are in your family. It it is just you and one parent , enter 2.

July applicant, received Biometrics request today.

My mom is the main applicant, and my dad is the accompanying applicant. We applied in June 2024 for the sponsorship. My mom was in Canada when we received the PPR in early May 2025. My dad was not visiting Canada. We informed IRCC that she is in Canada. They acknowledged receipt of the message and confirmed the information. We have not received anything ever since. Since she didn't plan to land at this time, her original plan was not to stay in Canada for long. If she knew she would be landing for her PR, she would plan accordingly. What are our options?

What happens if she goes back now. Can we inform IRCC that she has to go back? The original PPR letter gave her 30 days. I assume she cannot use that letter anymore to submit her passport. Is it going to take a long time for IRCC to send a new PPR email for them ?

Also, when she got the PPR letter, her background check was shown as completed on her application page on the IRCC portal. Now, it shows as "We are processing your background check". are they redoing the background check or it's just a glitch?

Yours is a special case beyond the scope of this forum... I would call IRCC and ask if there is any update or how they handle this situation. The other option is to consult an experienced immigration lawyer.

I would specifically ask them, if your mother can leave Canada at this time as well.

Hello All,
My brother is sponsoring for my Dad and Mom. We had applied during the 1st week of July 2024. We were asked to upload additional details such as address, PCC and proof of relationship on October 26th, 2024. We had immediately uploaded all of that information and received the confirmation in Dec (including the AOR as well on Nov 21st)
Later, on Feb 26th, 2025 we received the Biometrics request and a week later, Medical as well.
We had completed Biometrics on March 3rd and Medicals passed on March 13th (via GCKey)

The weird part is that, until today, we haven't received ANY information on the Sponsor Eligibility or the letter. Post March 13th, we had received a Pre arrival letter on April 26th, 2025 and another one during May.

We are also unable to connect the application via trackers since my Dad's First and Last name has issues. So no matter what I select as the family member count (3 to be precise), it says "Application not available"
We tried calling IRCC as well but for some reason, once we enter the application number and other personal details, it just drops the call.

Mom and Dad - Outland (not within Canada)

Any suggestions or advice?

If you have two Canadian addresses (residential & mailing) in file, try those two cities.

Hi, here's some information that hopefully helps.

1. I received the eligibility letter directly to my email address (as the sponsor) rather than other email notifications that went to my mum's email address (which I am monitoring myself). It is possible that the email (with a pdf attachment) went into your brother's junk/spam box and was later automatically purged. I was able to link my parents' application to the online account, but this eligibility letter is not available to be viewed over there. In other words, it is one-time sent to your brother's email address.

2. From what I have seen in this thread, the timing of receiving any notifications/requests varies a lot even among applications that are being processed within the same office. So in my opinion, it is also possible that the letter has still not been sent out yet.

3. You could use the webform page below to upload a letter expressing your concern on this matter. In my opinion, it looks like your application has been moving forward through this process (it's very promising that you have already received the pre-arrival letter).

"Additionally, you may send the requested information/document(s) via the IRCC webform at secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx"
