Hello Friends, if you have already applied for the super visa, please help us understand where you get the insurance and how much it cost you. Thanks.

Since it's "nothing to lose", many just submit their interest to sponsor online and either didn't look at the requirement or didn't pay attention to the details.
(e.g. cos my friend did and told me to as well...)

Sponsoring parents is a very important change of life. We planned it for years. We actually moved out from the suburb so that elder can have a walkable community.
I agree with you. People plan for this but many just apply without looking at the requirements for each year. IRCC banks on the fact that they will issue 30k invitations and many aren't even eligible. But IRCC doesn't send out new invitations so those who were eligible have to wait another year. So that person has taken someone's spot.

EI was only considered income in 2020 due to Covid. All other years, you deducted the EI from your income. It is clearly stated on the IRCC site in bold (and would have been when you entered the lotter last year) that all other years except 2020, you deduce EI etc. from your income.
No this is wrong info., what you wrote is your understanding not the info on government archive. FYI, Employment Insurance special benefits, such as maternity/parental/family care are considered towards income and you can see this income on the line 150/15000 of NoA.

IRCC has clearly mentioned this in their FAQ, https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=1525&top=14

Yes but then you have to subtract and not include the income. The link you provided states the following.

  • your Total Income on line 150 of your Notice of Assessment (NOA) from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and
  • subtract any income that must be excluded
    • provincial payments for an instruction or training program
    • social assistance from a province
    • payments from the Government of Canada under a resettlement assistance program
    • regular Employment Insurance earnings (for 2018 and 2019 tax years)
    • Old Age Security payments

Are you OK bro. We are waiting for the last five years and it seems they sent all invitations. Looking for options
Scylla did not mean to discourage you to apply or look for other options.
S/he is simply trying to help the person by looking into right catalog option , where the person can get answer quickly and by right set of person
Hope this will help you

Not a bro.

Not sure why you wouldn't want to leverage the info in the Visitors section of the forum. This is where the vast majority of super visa discussions are found and there is a ton of really useful info there and others who are actively going through the process. This is the best place to get support. Anyway, obviously your call.

It's futile to discuss on people who just apply because there's nothing to lose. They will apply anyways.

I hope from next year IRCC brings in measures like paying hefty fees of $500 for expressing interest and for people getting invites the fee can be used as part of the sponsorship fee and for unlucky people like me who couldn't get invite, have to submit their NOAs to get the refund.

Hi All,

Question regarding family size in determining financial eligibility. Currently I am single, but I was still married in 2018, and divorced in 2019. I want to sponsor both of my parents (2 people). Therefore, in calculating family sizing, I am thinking:
2020: 3 people (me, mom, dad)
2019: 3 people (me, mom, dad)
2018: 4 people (???) <- as I am divorced now, should i still enter previous spouse as a family member for the year that we are still together?

If you could please shed some light - that'd be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

only 3 people as family size as per ur current family size , unless ur married again it will be 4.

Last night - in my Dream
I have full documents received from IRCC on that, IRCC delayed the information for almost year and half, I went to Information Commissioner office too to get the information , I am planning to goto the court on this out of court settlement. Need more advice how to proceed.
Its a long shot
That settlement was achieved because the lawyers were able to prove that ppl with disability did not stand a chance in the first come first served system
Basically they proved a discriminatory approach on the part of the Govt by putting out such a system where only the ppl with the fastest fingers , best hardware and fast internet connection could get through

You would need to build a solid case to argue and have a flawless plan to nail the govt in court.

Lottery is a luck based system and you cant take your luck/fate to court and debate it

What scylla meant is refer to other threads specific to SuperVisa such as https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/super-visa-2021.717498/ or https://www.canadavisa.com/parent-and-grandparent-super-visa.html etc. We know it is related to PGP however most of us have not switched to SuperVisa mode yet. There ought to be information there. Do a google search and several Insurance companies offer quotes online. I have personally heard on Radio that typical cost ought not to (pre-pandemic) exceed $5 per day her head. Do not quote me.

So my conversation with immigration officer on a $1000 short LICO is that it depend on the officer looking at the application, some officers may approve your sponsorship and some may not. but if you have marked that if you are not eligible, the application for permanent resident should not continue, then you just loss $75 for the processing of the sponsorship application. So at this point i will submit my application, if i am refused, i will lose just the processing fee of $75. which is not the end of the world.
