As far as I know, once your sponsorship eligibility is validated, your parents' application will be transferred to your home country's local visa office or stays in Ottawa for the rest of the processing. Our PPR came from the local visa office, but whether you send it to the local visa office or Ottawa, it depends on your situation and instruction will be provided along with PPR.[/QUO

My file never got transferred to our home country. It's still in Ottawa and we are waiting for PPR as the status is already decision made. So was wondering does the file first moves back to the home country and then ppr email is sent or we get it from Ottawa itself.

Did they ask you the tracking number as well? The agent that I spoke with asked me Canada Post tracking number first, then moved on to the application information. Looks like that they are linking the tracking number with the application, and able to identify whether the package is available or not.

Also, my package was received on April 17 as well, and the agent told me that today marks two weeks, so she just messaged the officers to proceed on the application. So you may want to call them up today.
I called them today. The repre couldn't find my package in the system. When I ask her where is the passports, she said in Ottawa because she checked canada post tracking number. The she asked me to email both Hong Kong and Ottawa office that my parents passport was sent to Ottawa. She says Hong Kong office is expecting passports which made no sense. There were 5 offices listed on the email that I can send passport to. Nowhere says I need to notify any office where I send passports.

Will have to call tomorrow again.

Hello everyone I am in Ontario student visa I want to invite parents here permanent, I have sister she is married in Australia, my parents are old there is no one who take care them in India. what is the procedure if I want to invite them after completion of my study. please reply me I really appreciate that. thanks
You can sponsor your parents only if your status in Canada is PR or Citizen and you meet income for three years. I would say search Internet (google) for "CIC eligibility to sponsor parents". Visit the site that ends with gc.ca (Means site of government of Canada). Read that , learn that. You have enough time to learn, You would be master and would be able to help others.

If still question, post here/. People would be able to help you. Please do your little homework, and ask Specific question.

Hope this helps

From someone who has your parents sponsorship application in process, could you please advise if

1. A date (DOB or marriage date) is unknown, should I put a random date (January 01) and attach an explanation letter, or should I put * for day or month where applicable, but then this case, the form will be submitted without being validated?

2. Also, Did CIC accept photocopies of signatures?

Your help is appreciated!
1. I would say, put random date e.g. 01-01-1900 and attach explanation letter, explaining that specific form name, specific column. and what date you want the officer to read. Or you can say, please read this as unknown.
2. CIC does not accept photo copies of signatures. It is mentioned somewhere on the form or Sponsorshop guide somewhere.

Read sponsorship guide minimum three times. Line by line. word by word. It is worth and would save your time in future

Hope this helps

I believe if thats the case, then it should come from Ottawa. Where to send a passport is a different story, it depends on where your parents currently are.

I know I am late to ask this question or check replies from previous posts, but asking that how long is it taking to get PR stamped after submitting the application ?
I am invited in 2019 round of invitations and submitting my application this week.
Just curious about knowing real time processing time from 2018 or 2017 invitees.
Thanks in advance.

After the call that I had yesterday, my MyCIC account application status has been changed to Approved. So once you clarify the things on where the passport is, and able to get to the right agent who can help you expedite the process, I believe that it will be fine after all.

Not quite sure your situation, but my mom was already staying in Canada when we submitted the application, and is still in Canada with Super Visa. So, all the address and other information are tied to Canada in the application, so Manila office (our LVO) might not expect our passport there.

But as long as you follow the instruction correctly (sending it to Ottawa if she resides in Canada), then it should be fine I believe.

Wish you the best on the rest of process, and I strongly believe that it is not a big deal as we are at the last stage.
