Hello everyone,

I am invited in 2019 parents sponsorship. Can you please guide me on an average how long does it take to receive medical request after application submission?

Thank you.
this is for 2018 applicants, please use the 2019 feed

When I was immigrating, I need to enter Canada before the expire date of medical. What is happening if the parent in Canada and her medical is valid up to June, but the decision will be made after June, should the parent undergo another medical?

That was not the case for me. I waited 9 month after I got visa to land. I don't think your parent would need to go for another medical. Did your landing instruction ask you to enter Canada before a date on that letter says med expiry date?

Yes, my visa expire date was my medical last validity date, I passed my medical on April 1st, 2013 and when later I got Passport request and then stamped passports in June, there was mentioned that the visa is valid up to April 1st, 2014. But in this case when the parent in Canada she will not get any visa, so there cannot be any expiry date?

Jan 28 and still no response on sponsorship. I called them and they said they are verifying social assistance if I had any, which I never took. Most of candidates done with their medicals as well. Just waiting ...
I see...Thank you...We might be in the same boat too as my co-signer had sponsored his parents which are still in effect

They will still get visa like any immigrants. But I still don't think you should worry about doing second med. If CIC want your parents to do a second one, that would be before they made decision to issue your parents a visa.

And I think it is just an coincident that your own visa expired on the same date of your med

Thanks, it was something new for me, that inland applicants are also getting visa, I assumed that they are getting only COPR and have interview at border. I assumed if inland applicants already have a valid visa, then they don't need visa again.

Hi,

I submitted my mother's sponsorship documents in September 2018 and unfortunately today, I received a letter that I am not an eligible sponsor because of our 2015 and 2016 income - 2017 was fine.

Their reference for my husband's (self-employed) income was his NET pay and not gross pay....

Although there is no final decision yet from the visa officer.

Do I withdraw my application or wait until final decision?

Thank you.
