I am new to this forum, infact this is the first forum that I've joined, I got my PPR-1 on Oct 16, 2012 and sent all the documents on Oct 19, my package was received by LVO on Oct 22, I have couple of queries and seek answer/advice from you people;
1-Whats the current average time for receiving PPR-2 after PPR-1
2-How much time is given for submission of Passports to CHC Islamabad after PPR-2

I am asking these question because i have to travel out of the country for a project on Nov 5, I'll be comming back after 3 or 4 weeks,

Kindly advise me if its wise to travel in this situation or should i wait for PPR-2.

Thanks and appreciate your help. Could you let me know what to do if I do not have any address to be given at the time of landing as I will staying in a hotel for the first few days and than start searching for a permenant place.

No problem....i try my best to share my experiences and hope that it helps you..

First of all....I would not recommend staying in a hotel and looking for a place to live....every dollar spent needs to be thought about...u'll end up paying a lot of money and will find it extremely difficult to find a place in a few days...

You should check online...there are plenty of sites....try to shortlist where u want to go....check google for everything....even look up the place on google maps...

You also need to know how much u r willing to pay per month....don't worry about schooling yet (if u have kids)....just look up a place within ur budget and then check which schools are nearby...

I will be posting some usefull information on what one needs to do when u get here....it all needs to be planned very well......u don't wanna loose ur savings and ur time.....and believe me.....it will go like anything and u'll be freaking out pretty soon......just make sure u bring enough funds....I know...one can not define "enough" ...but I hope u get my point.....

As for jobs....well there are agencies here that u'll have to register urself with...they might be able to help....but patience is the keep....patience and sustainability....

Things will happen when they are meant to happen....just have faith in Allah Almighty !!!!!

For all those who are planning to land soon and in a while....be sure to bring:

1. International drivers license (u can drive here for 60 days on it)
2. Letter of Authentication (issued by driving license authority...otherwise u'll have to get it made from here from the Pakistani Consulate)
3. Pakistani Drivers License showing an issue date of more than 4-5 years ago.
4. For those who want to bring a goods to follow list (the forms are available online....download it and fill it before hand....u'll save a lot of time (IMO....not needed at all)

You can buy a car the day u arrive here....so instead of renting or depending on friends or family....plan to buy early......u'll automatically get used to driving here before ur driving test.......get ur drivers license done on priority....u have to take the G1 written test first and then u can go for the full drivers license (G)...more info here (for Ontario): http://www.drivetest.ca/EN/licencing/Pages/Getting-and-Ontario-Driver's-Licence.aspx

A couple more points you would want to add to list:
- List of goods, and list of goods to follow
- Get your jewellery evaluated and attach it to your above list, to avoid paying tax unnecessarily.
