I am not sure if it matters that much. Our family's passports needed renewal in the middle of the application process. I had all my kids sign their passports, be it 15 year old or 5 year old.

Can't imagine it being of much consequence.

7 and 11 years old can write their names, and for 3 year old any parent pref'bly mother should sign it.

Hi Becket (good choice of name BTW :))

I totally understand your bitterness... this wait is long and draining. However, I want to share something with you, to maybe help alay this frustration.

I hate waiting for things to happen; Seriously!!! My full time job is not very challenging for me, and I had started feeling bitter about this Canada thingy a bit too much. So I decided to launch an on-line business. Now, all my free time and a bit more just gets used up on that. I have no time to think anymore :)

So, my sincere suggestion to you is, get yourself involved with an activity that you love doing. So much so, that you forget everything else :) Well, almost everything :)

You can always join these Tableeghee Jamaat guys :)

Just a suggestion.

Hi. Thanks for the advice!! I appreciate it!
But I am already involved in working full time at something I love doing. Teaching literature at research level!! I am bogged down with supervising doctoral research. But I still cannot get my mind off the Canada thing.
Oh, and I am glad you know Beckett!!
All the best,
Beckett

O My
Is that taken from "Samuel Beckett"
MashaAllah !!! You have a very strong Intellectual background? Is that the reason why you seem very serious and abstemious…?

I have a strong research backgroung in Beckett and other post-structuralists, hence the choice of a pseudonym. And yes, maybe I am the stereotypical university professor (minus the shock of white hair and the pipe!) so I sound sombre.
Serious? I don't know. Philosophy/literature lover, yes.
I have studied and taught in the UK for quite some time. British literature is littered with pessimists, fatalists and suicidal writers. I had to be affected!
