Hi everyone,

I am a Canadian citizen currently living abroad with my wife and getting ready to submit our Outland Spousal Sponsorship (PR) application. Since I am applying from outside Canada, I know I need to satisfy IRCC Regulation 130(2) with a strong "Proof of Intent to Reside in Canada" package.

Here is a summary of our situation and what I plan to submit as my proof package:

Relationship & Personal Background:

  • Married in February 2026.
  • My wife is currently pregnant (2nd trimester).
  • We plan to relocate to Canada together as soon as her PR is approved.
Ties & Relocation Strategy:

  1. Housing / Initial Accommodation: We will be staying temporarily at my sister’s house when we land. Once settled, we plan to move into a leased apartment/home. I am attaching a signed Statutory Declaration from my sister, her Canadian ID, and her proof of address.
  2. Employment & Career:
    • I work remotely for a US-based company, but my position is officially Canada-based.
    • I hold an active Real Estate License in Canada (currently parked/on deposit), which I will reactivate/unpark as soon as we land to resume active practice.
  3. Financial Assets & Liabilities:
    • I have an active Canadian bank account with sufficient funds to support us.
    • I own a car in Canada that is currently parked, and I am making active monthly car loan (EMI) payments on it.
    • I regularly file my Canadian taxes every year (including the most recent tax year).
My Questions for the Community:

  1. Sponsor Letter Structure: Does my combination of a Canada-based remote job, parked real estate license, active car loan payments, and Canadian tax filings count as strong ties to satisfy the IRCC officer, or should I get a formal job offer letter locally?
  2. Sister's Housing Declaration: Is a simple signed invitation letter + proof of ownership/lease from my sister sufficient for the temporary housing piece, or does it need to be notarized as a formal affidavit?
  3. Pregnancy Documentation: How much weight do officers put on pregnancy proof for Proof of Intent vs. Bona Fide Relationship? We are including a doctor’s note confirming the estimated due date.
  4. Proof of Assets Upload: Should I merge all these items (tax notices of assessment, car loan statements, real estate registration, sister's letter, bank statement) into a single PDF under the "Additional Documents / Proof of Intent" slot, or expand on them inside the IMM 5532 narrative?
Appreciate any advice or feedback from anyone who successfully got approved in a similar situation!
