We sent the package with UPS to:
Case Processing Centre
2 ROBERT SPECK PKWY
ROOM 300
MISSISSAUGA, L4Z 1H8

We applied as common-law, so above the address we wrote: Sponsorship: Common-Law.
We used this address as we needed the proof that the package was received (signature required). The other addresses given on the CIC website are PO boxes. The couriers (UPS, FedEx) do not leave package at PO boxes. We used the proof (that the file has been sent and received) when we applied for extending his stay here in Canada.

My common-law partner lives with me in Canada, and his Visa office is in Paris. His file was transferred to Paris once the sponsorship was approved. We got our Decision Made yesterday.

My wife and I both are living in Canada. My wife is PR and I have study permit.
We are gonna apply outland since it takes less time.
Do we need to send my tax/income documents as well? (I am the sponsored one)
Thanks in advance.

Hi all!
I am a canadian citizen and my boyfriend is australian. We are currently in canada (he is on a working holiday visa). We lived together for 4 years in melbourne (i'm a permanent resident there through partner visa) and then came to canada to travel a bit and see my family/friends. Boyfriend fell in love with canada and we would really want to live here instead of going back to australia.

We wanted to apply for the inland visa but after reading that it can take 26 months, we are thinking of applying for outland.

Is it possible for us to apply for outland, within canada, while he is on a working holiday visa? If so, will he still be allowed to work in canada during the process or will this cancel his working holiday visa?

Is there any downside to doing it this way or is it better for him to go back to australia and apply from there? Would this affect his chances at being approved?

Also, if anyone has been in this situation, how long did it take to get the visa?

Any tips or info for our situation?

Thanks all!

yes, for sure, he can apply outland while living and working in canada on a working holiday visa. no, the working holiday visa won't be cancelled because of his PR application. one thing has nothing to do with the other.

Thanks all!
the *only* down side to applying outland while in canada is if an interview is required, the applicant must return back to their home country where the interview is held. however, if an outland applicant has temporary legal status in canada, their application *may* be sent to ottawa for processing, and any interview will be held there. This really isn't a reason to apply inland as interviews are very rarely called for straightforward cases. interviews are generally called because of relationship red flags, dependant or criminal issues.

Do not apply inland. depending on when his working visa expires, when he applies outland he can very well be approved as PR before his visa expires. I believe applications through Sydney are generally approved quickly, definitely less than a year, possibly 6-8 months. The Sydney thread on this forum will be able to confirm.

Hi there, I've been asked to obtain a Canadian criminal record check and fingerprints - Ottawa CIC has requested this info to be sent to them within 30 days, however the RCMP have said it takes 4-6 weeks to process fingerprints. Just wondering if anyone here has had any experience with Canadian finger prints clearance and timelines?

Thank you

Is the finger print request for all applicants ? Part of the process?

I don't think so, we are only required to obtain a police clearance with finger print in the country where we lived for 6 months and more, as per the law stipulated on our visa (visitor's visa) we are not allowed to stay more than six months in Canada. In my case, I go out of Canada every 5 mos. I did not submit my police clearance and finger print from BC, but I have it in case they will ask for it.

No good news and no bad news :)

I don"t understand why NDVO is so fast giving PPR to 2016 applicants. In some post there were applicants last feb who already got their PPR.
