what immigration stream are you referring to? this board is for citizens/pr's sponsoring their spouses for PR through the spousal sponsorship stream. It does not have a non-accompanying option. are you applying for parent pr or through a foreign worker stream?

Sorry I should have been clearer. Once I get the PR through the express entry I am planning to sponsor my spouse but since I'll be alone when becoming a PR I am wondering what are the delay for me to sponsor my spouse that is residing in Brazil.

But my question is only about the sponsorship process. How long would it take to go from the out land path for someone in Brazil. The fact that I got the PR from the express entry wouldn't change the process.
Most of the Family Sponsorship statistics are drastically out of date. Here is the most current statistics released by CIC in June 2016: http://open.canada.ca/data/en/dataset/53105221-7652-47b1-96e2-1f85715a067c

if you have pr status and will be sponsoring her through the spousal sponsorship stream, then find the thread specific to the brazil visa office to see the current trend. there may be a spreadsheet to follow. the list on the cic website is not a true average.

i don't think brazil takes 20 months. again, that is not the "Average". that number suggests 80% of applications are processed WITHIN that time, meaning 79.9% of applications are processed quicker than that. again, to find the real time processing, find the thread specific to Brazil. my guess it is more like 7-10 months.
