I am wondering if people have any experience with processing time at the Ottawa office. My file was transferred to Ottawa in December 2010. I know the time it takes to be called for a test can vary, but I would like to get an approximate idea and make summer travel plans accordingly.

hi there,
My common law spouses' file was transferred to the Ottawa office in March 2010 and still to this day he has not even been given a test date. It is basically been a year.

That's crazy. I wonder if that is related to something specific in his case. People on the Mississauga thread seem to have been called for their test within a month of their file being transferred to the office. Surely there can't be such a discrepancy between different offices!

Its puzzling!! he even called the call center and they told him that his background checks were completed and that he just has to wait until the ottawa office contacts him with a test date. And they also told him that if he doesnt get contacted by august that he should call them back. I think they are lying about the background checks!!!
Also did i mention that he sent in his application from july 2009, so come this july it will be 2 years since he first applied. IT'S JUST RIDICULOUS!!
