my friend had a minor cut (operation) in the chest in 2007 and operation finished in 10-15 minutes. the cut was for fat tumor and his GP has these details. everything was fine before the operation and now.

should he mention to DMP during medical ?? How he should explain to DMP?

thank you.

DMP should ask if there's been any operation anyway.
Now it's up to you whether you want to be honest or stay quiet about the op, but if you say your GP has details of the op, if your DMP were to check with GP, obviously DMP would not like to learn something knew you've been hiding...

Hi All, I came accross this thread a couple of weeks ago and decided to add my experience so far. I am also part of the group who's case was passed onto CPP-Ottawa, filed my SAP around March 2007 received AOR Oct 2007.
Documents sent July 2010
Meds Requested Feb 2011
Meds Sent March 2011
E-CAS status changed 23/05/2011: Medicals have been received.

Was actually very releived to see that my meds had been recieved as I made enquiries around the end of March to confirm they had received them. The reply from them was concenring as they started they had only received meds for my wife and son but there was no evidence of me being received. So after a lot of emails back and forth plus calls to the practise where the meds were done we found out why mine were not yet on the system. The practise was very helpful, they contacted the London office to enquire about the missing report as they had another applicant in the same situation as myself, because I suffer from a spinal defect(Scoliosis) they were reviewing my case hence Ottawa not being able to see my report on the system. Finally received email from Ecas tracker on 23/05 indicating my meds had been received.
Would they still likely to request any other medical tests or would they have already requested them before the status on E-cas had changed?
Also anybody have any ideas as to how long before PPR requests are recieved once the medical have been received?
Wish everyone all the best
Good luck.

Hi Shiraz1971 and welcome here!

Well as you may have read here, a few of us did their meds in July-September and are still waiting for Visa... Technically your meds are valid for 1 year and you should therefore land in Canada within a year of your medicals, but nothing forces the office to issue the visa before your meds expire. We may be asked to do them again... Others here have been luckier and got PPRs after 6 months.
Turn the great wheel of Immigration and find out how lucky you are!
At least you did your meds, so things are moving forward for you!

All the best

BTW (sorry about double post) we've just emailed the minister again after hearing nothing for 2 weeks. We're usually patient (who isn't on this forum?) but this time our jobs are being terminated here due to budget cuts, and we live in such a remote area that it will be impossible to find anything else. So basically the question is: do we need to move and get jobs elsewhere if it's going to last a while, or can we afford to wait here jobless for a visa? If the visa comes before our meds expire (10 September), well it's no big deal, "only" 3 months without pay (gee you have to learn to be resilient and resourceful for this thing!), we stay here and wait. But if they're not going to do it before our meds expire, who's to say it's not going to drag on for another 6 months, a year? In that case we'll need some cash...and a new address.
But do we really want to move into a new home and job, when the place we want to do just that is CANADA?

Ed any news on your side? Who ever said "no news is good news" obviously never applied for immigration :p

Hey M+JM,

hehe, true 'no news is good news' definitely does not apply to this situation.

Well, as you know, I think I only have 55 days for my medicals to expire...

Two wednesdays ago, I asked Ottawa to follow up on my medicals and they asked me to wait for a couple of weeks (which is this wednesday).

I will email them then because I am not too sure that they are taking into consideration that if I was not in London, I could never get my visas on time. I am off from 15 June until 28 June, which means that even if I get my passport request now, I will not be able to take them to the embassy until Thursday, 30 June, which means, I could not pick them up until Thursday, 14 July, and I need to land in Toronto by 27 July. So very very tight!!! but I will have to do what I have to do. I would land and come back since I have project to work in London until the end of March 2012, and by then, I would probably like to stay for the Olympic Games.

I am now getting curious as to what is going to happen in the next couple of weeks, but I am definitely going to enjoy my 13 day holiday!!!

Hi M+JM, thanks for the welcome, have any of the CPP-Ottawa applicants actually received their PPR? it seems to me that people who's files remained in London CHC have received theirs already and CPP applicants are lagging behind, I thought with our files expedited to Ottawa we would be ahead but it doesnt seem to be the case.

That's the problem, some London Sept 2007-CPPO applicants landed in Canada in May, others have done meds and are waiting for PPRs, and some haven't been contacted for meds yet. It WAS supposed to make our application quicker, but as you can see the Pilot experiment was, well, an experiment... It only added to the confusion and mixed files up a little more...

I agree with all of you. We are like the guinea pigs of Immigration Canada. It is quite frustrating to see how many London applicants got their PPR after 3 months of medicals.
I am quite anxious for tomorrow so that I can send them an email again. I miscounted yesterday and I actually only have 49 days for medicals to epxire.
I do not find any excuse as to why medicals should take 12 months to revise, even if additional tests are needed.

Dear Everyone,

To reinvigorate everyone especially those who are still waiting for the medical request, finally we received ours last week and was dated 17 May 2011. This is after we personally handle our case. We have submitted the requested documents last March.

BUT - unfortunately we haven't submitted ourselves for check up, we are not sure if we will continue - as I stated earlier my son is diagnosed with Autism. We don't know what to do.

We do appreciate your advices.

Many thanks,

Hi Guys, after posting here on Tuesday I decided to email cpp-Ottawa requesting the status of my application. Well no surprise with their reply which was short saying
Sir,

An officer will review your file shortly.

So I thought it's going to be a long wait however to my surprise I received PPR by email this evening
I'm absolutely ecstatic.
So there is hope for all, keep the faith and I wish all who are still waiting get there's very soon.

Shiraz.
