Oh no. I'm also in Ottawa. I'm worried we'll also get stuck in the process with JT too! Has anyone had someone other than JT? Or is he like the only officer processing citizenship applicaitons in Ottawa?

I have seen 2 people reported letters other than JT. It’s not 100% sure that JT is a person. But IRCC usually follows initials of the person when using a generic email address. So they can sort it out easily.

I hope so. It was 2.5 months of mental stress waiting for someone to print a paper!

I was not stressed out during the 25 months waiting in the process. But this 2.5 months was a pain!

It is strange, Ottawa office, "JT" particularly, doesn't even accept the urgent requests for the certificates. I guess we all miss the flights. I sent an email to the minister and many emails to the office. No reply.

Anybody has Ottawa Office contact number please? or Anybody has certificate from "JT" recently?

Mine is "JT" officer, I sent an urgent request with my flight ticket, but 7 days passed and I have no response from them, and the tracker is still in progress.

Good that you sent an email to the minister. There should be some accountability and this JT needs to improve his/her performance. Multiple emails to the minister about a specific office will be a flag. I hope you will get your certificate soon.

anyone recently scheduled for ceremony in ottawa? can you post your status change and ceremony dates please?? seems like ottawa hasnt been scheduling ceremonies for a while

maybe waiting on JT to finish printing those certificates from November or something

After waiting for ages, my ceremony was yesterday, January 12, 2022. I got the oath invitation on January 5, 2022 in the tracker.
There were 46 applicants. I requested for urgent process with my flight ticket. However, many other people seemed to ask for the urgent process too. They explain very well how you request urgent thru email.

Hopefully, everybody gets ceremony soon soon.

Here is my full timeline, if somebody needs:

Nov 14, 2019: App Sent

Nov 17, 2019: App Received

Feb 11, 2020: AOR

Feb 26, 2020: Process

March 09, 2020: FP request by email, send next two days

April 15, 2021: Test invitation

April 25, 2021: Test Taken

Nov 3, 2021: Background Verification changed to "In progress" from "Completed"


Nov 3, 2021: Background verification activity status updated Background verification Background verification status has been updated to In progress


Nov 9, 2021: Fingerprints required Background verification We sent you a letter or email with instructions to submit your fingerprints.


Nov 14, 2021: Fingerprint results: Received We received your fingerprint information on November 14, 2021 and will review them shortly. Thank you!

Dec 1, 2021 Fingerprint results: Received New update We received your fingerprint information on December 1, 2021 and will review them shortly. Thank you!

Dec 2, 2021 : Background verification status has been updated to Completed

Dec 3, 2021: Prohibitions & Physical presence went to completed.

Dec 6, 2021: I got the DM in the old tracker

Jan 4, 2022: Ceremony changed to In Progress

Jan 5, 2022: Email invitation received.

Jan 12, 2022: Ceremony.

I guess yes, because each office has its own ceremony sessions.

I just dont understand what are they doing poking around in my application, 2 ghost updates after DM, it's stressing me out. every time i say well its going to take a while im going to forget about it, they do something like this and get my hopes up again lol
